SONOFF wathervalve

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Sonoff water valve connected to my Homey. It’s installed in front of my washing machine.
The idea is that the valve should stay open all the time, and only close when my water leak sensor detects water (using a flow).

The problem is that the valve turns off automatically after some time.
I can turn it on manually, but after a while it switches off again.

Has anyone experienced the same issue?
Or does anyone know how to keep the valve continuously open without it turning off by itself?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Bram

Welcome, Bram!

Please use the appropriate Sonoff app topic for your questions. You’ll find links to these app topics on the app page at the app store.

The Sonoff app that supports the water valve does not have an app topic! :man_shrugging:

@Bram_Naessens, I had connected the water valve via Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant and noticed that the valve has more setting options than under Homey. Among other things, the following settings:
On with timed off
Auto close when water shortage (binary)

In the description of Auto close when water shortage (binary) it says: “Automatically shut down the water valve after the water shortage exceeds 30 minutes. Requires firmware version 1.0.4 or later!”
So I assume that this option is enabled by default.
The only way to change this option would be if the app developer of the Homey Sonoff app added this option to the settings.
You can contact the app developer on GitHub. You can find the link to this on the Homey App Store.

You could work around it maybe :

every x minutes: If #Waterleakalarm is ‘No’ AND #Watervalve is ‘Closed’ THEN open Watervalve

It at lest saves you from checking and manualy re-opening it…

Right, the well-known exception to the rule :face_with_peeking_eye::wink:
