[SOLVED] Servers / service / connection down? March 11 @ 04:11AM CET

Are you sure?

Because i personally do not expierence any issues.
If i didnt read this topic, i would not have noticed any issues. My app is working fine, all my devices as well (as far as i notice at least) and my flows also.

Ofc, i use homey for automation and hardly use the app, but i did used it this morning and didnt have any issues.

Unfortunately not for me, getting timeout, status Disconnected.

Well, are your LOCAL services working right now ? Zigbee, ZWAVE, etc. ? I believe this is still working, naturally cloud dependent services will be always CLOUD dependent…

Homey not being accessible locally and Athoms very bad communication behaviour makes me think about looking for an alternative.

Arie they got spammed by the automated systems + they got spammed already 1 hour ago by us on SLACK , they are aware. Question is, if they are at work, that’s another story

Are you in the same network as your Homey?

Yep, but I left 1 hour ago and came back - probably now the app can’t “find the way back”

I still cannot login to homey

Login is API Athom cloud based, which is currently down.

I think many users assume when they can’t login to Homey, Homey is down. Which is not true in most cases.

‘Everything local’ marketing should read
‘Everything local except for the login system’

I was out in the morning for about two hours and couldn’t access it. When I came back into my local Wifi, it immediately started working again.
Tried without Wifi → no connect.
Tried without Wifi but with VPN → connect.
Tried with Wifi reenabled → connect.

Very strange that for some it works and for others it doesn’t.

Same here:

everything that’s independent from the homey server is working. (Zigbee, z wave lights and switches)

External apps (e.g. telegram bot or Pushover notifications) are working fine.

So basically everything but the homey interface and the app (including push notifications) works.

For me that leads to severe issues today because some elemental things rely on homey notifications. Extremely annoying.

It seem to me that Homey need that login system very often.
That’s so by using a pc/laptop. See no devices, flows.

That’s correct, but how to start a flow manually if you can’t login?

Interesting, tried now with VPN as well - still didn’t work… after a while, instead of handshaking I got :

…connected back via 5G - working for Android App - Homey Web naturally doesn’t
…connected back to Wifi - working for Android App - Homey Web naturally doesn’t

And I see now Cloud status Connected. ? While it’s obviously still down

I guess it tries the last way of connecting (cloud vs local) and if that doesn’t work for a while it falls back to the other?

It did not for me until I enabled VPN … and via VPN it didn’t work either.

Btw, Athom is aware and engaged - confirmed by them.

You can’t. Flows that are triggered through automation or local devices (zigbee switch etc) are working just fine.

Everything that needs a login (App, Push Notifications, Homey pro Interface) is down. Everything other is working just fine.

The fact that the service is down is annoying, but that there is still no communication from the Athom team, is even more annoying.

Homey WAF is dropping massively by the way.

It would have helped if they would have an additional way of logging in to the local device and at least access and control the local only parts

Not unless you have valid token, I guess.
