[SOLVED] Servers / service / connection down? March 11 @ 04:11AM CET

Thus the cloud was down. I hope we learn why it was.
But this is why i have a Homey. It keeps on working without cloud.
This is why i hate cloud enabled devices. They stop working when the cloud is down. And it will go down.

That is why you should not use smart lights but smart switches. Switches that work when you push them ( fibaro dimmer for example). Do that for all the important stuff. Assume your Homey breaks. Just turn it of and try to live without it. Can you still do the most important stuff? Lights, blinds, locks, charge, alarm? Yes, then you did it right. No, than change it. You’ll thank me later.

So far, that is not the why. That is only a confirmation that Athom also does not know why, and that does not fill me with confidence.

I been a Homey user since 2017 and this is the first time I could not reach my Homey from mobile. My Homey was still working local during the server down period. There are bigger companies than Athom that sometimes have problems (i.e. Meta).

Thank you. That post gives me confidence. Shit can happen. The dropping of the connections of the AWS loadbalancers is strange indeed.
