Hi Niels, the web API may be more stable, but can only be accessed 1000 times per month. So on 10 hours a day, you can get info every 20 minutes. I found that too few times.
Also, I couldnāt get the power that is generated on the moment of accessing. Maybe I didnāt try hard enough, but these both things, together with the info from the Home Assistant forum, had me decided to leave the web API and try this.

Thanks for extensive explanation, every 20 minutes sounds indeed really bad. But looking at the Toon integration I see the data refreshing every 5 min so It could be something to look at.
Is the code shared in a GitHub repo so maybe we can help?
maybe use it as a fall back then in the code?
Hi Niels, I see. I was wondering if the Toon plugin still worked, but now I have my answer. Iāve played around a bit with the plugin you provided and got the idea that the website had āceased to beā.
The code is indeed on Github https://github.com/Dickje/Homey-APsystems. Any help is appreciated.
Regards, Dick
Thanks for the effort Dick!! But APS is making everything way too difficult⦠If I knew it was such a PITA to get it working with any SHS I wouldāve made another choice. Anyone got any info /suggestions why APS deleted the local webbased menu?
Hi @Dick_J ,
is it possible to in the when cards, add the option to check when the power has changed?
the strange thing is I do see it on your app page:
But donāt see it in the list:
Hi Patrick,
The cards are actually from Homey and come standard with an energy application I believe. I didnāt make them. Recently, Homey changed some of the standards and maybe discarded the one you mentioned.
I will look into this and maybe create such a card.
Regards, Dick
Hi Dick good afternoon, since your last update Sep-06 I receive all these errorās , see screenshot.
Best regards Peter.
By the way, I do see a very unstable connection. I have made extensive flows checking that the data is being received and if needed reset the app or the router (which was happening a lot as well).
Question this is, is the app creating the disconnects, or is the connection/wifi not stable, leading to the issues.
Diagnostics done as well:

Saw the update coming in and the new power changed card, thanks!
Unfortunately the app is no longer starting:
Hi Patrick, Iām sorry. Thatās weird, on my system it runs well.
Looking at your screen shot, I might have made a typo somewhere in the code. Can you send a diagnostics report? Iāll try to find time today to look into it.
I think that the ECU connection is inherently unstable. The error from your diagnostics is:

This is also happening at my ECU. Powercycling the ECU resolves that. I donāt know why this happens. I have asked APS twice to supply info about commands to the ECU, but they didnāt reply.
Other strange things happen also. I regularly see a reported generated power above 50MW in the energy tab. Sometimes a connection error, sometimes a timeout error. ![]()
I have the same problem, the app doesnāt start anymore. I sent a report.

Yup have that too.
Alsowent back to the installer for the instability and he opened a complaint at the supplier. Only heard back that everything is okeā¦.
Question is where the instability comes from. Panels to the ECU router, or router to internet. I feel itās the former, so will also place the router closer to the panels.

Other thing is that the APS app itself does provide the correct data. Where is it getting the data from, and why does that still work?
Hi Dick,
After the update I restarted the app and everything works fine. No problems.
Did a full reset, including homey, the app and the ECU. now it is working again. Also sent a diagnostics report and replaced the ECU closer to the panel to hopefully increase the stability of the connectionā¦.
fingers crossed
Oke, too early, having many disconnects again
I had a Odido klik-en-klaar modem next to the ECU and moved it away 10cm. It may have interfered with something in the ECU, it seems that the disconnects decreased.
Also, I aplogize for publishing a wrong version.Yes, there is a card to trigger when the power has changed, but I putted in a random number for testing purposes. The displayed power therefor made no sense.
Did a quick fix, hoping that I didnāt break anything else ![]()
