Solar system from APsystems

Hi, thanks for you reply
Re-reading all the messages I realized I rebooted the internet AP, the homey and forgot the ECU …
Power cycling the ECU worked and now everything is fine. Thanks a lot

Hi Dick good evening,

I’ve got only 5 inverter’s online it says in the app see screenshot, but I checked in EMA app and all the 9 inverters working normally. And actual power in EMA is 1384 W

Best regards Peter.

Now it’s okay again

Also the wattage is good again.

Regards Peter.

Thanks @Dick_J for your great work on this app!

Hi Peter, the amount of inverters online is a momentary situation. I noticed that not all the inverters report back to the ECU, when I queried the ECU. It’s not that they don’t work anymore. It was mainly for myself to see if inverters were sending or not. It’s a bit confusing, I will leave it out in a future version.

Best regards, Dick

Hi Johan, I don’t have a clue. On my own installation, I had a similar incident last week, where I generated 5500kW or something like that.I also had 48 inverters instead of 8. I don’t know why that happened, it must have been some weird data coming from the ECU.

Hi Dick good morning :sun_with_face:

Thanks for your reply and I liked your new version also with the information about the inverter’s, you can leave it in if you want it doesn’t bother me that now and again the info about those is not correct because of the way the ECU-R is sending information, it’s not your fault.
I only mentioned it to you because I don’t know what kind of info you get in.

Thanks again and good luck with developing, you’ve done a great job :+1:t2::+1:t2::+1:t2:

Have a nice day and
Best regards Peter.

Hi Dick, Thanks for the update and the great work. I like the Numbers of inverters, so i can track them and make a flow if a inverter is offline.

Greets, Steven

@Dick_J , what do you advise? Do I remove and re-add the ECU, or do you think with the next version it can self repair? on my side it is still offline:

Hi Patrick, can you send a diagnostics report? Maybe there is something in there that can give a clue.
You can also try to delete and reinstall the app.

Hi Patrick, mine was also not responding after the update, I readded the ECU-R and everything was fine after.

Good luck and regards Peter.

Did a diagnostic report.
Also removed the app and reinstalled. Now was able to add the ecu and get it to work :+1:t2::+1:t2::+1:t2:

Great. Although I hoped that only reinstalling the app would have been enough. In the diagnostics report there is only one thing that was odd; a capability that I thought was deleted.
Just released a newer version, with no real changes.

sent another diagnstic report, but it looks like an issue on my side. please ignore for now.

Diag report Hi there
I am facing an issue : data is not being updated after 24 hours

These are the values for yesterday… the screenshot is from just now

Diag report 9d41a3d1-842d-4a19-8da3-11f611877992

Thankyou for creating the app really happy with this addition to my homey. Only problem I keep encountering is that after adding the device it stops reporting new values after a certain time.

removing the device and readding it sometimes works but also had occasion where I needed to reinstall the app. Restarting the ECU-R does not fix it.

I also have the solar panels connected to my toon smart thermostat and there everything is working as normal. (Link to source code of Toon thermostat app)

diagnostic id: 60a83179-912d-43cd-8bc0-49f5ebd86d87

Hi there

Looks like we have the same kind of of issue.

A managed a temporary fix with restarting the homey, then the ECu 30 mins later and then the app in homey.

Difference is I have the issue overnight when solar panels are unproductive. I had to schedule the last step 30 after sunrise when production is sufficient

Hope that helps

Hi Greg, unfortunately the diagnostics report doesn’t reveal much. There was a command sent to the ECU, but it did not respond it seems.

I also encounter some problems with the app every now and then. The output seems to freeze; constant power over a long period of time. Today my peak power was 500MW….

Stil work in progress I’m afraid, and I noticed that the ECU itself is not very stable. I unplugged the wired internet connection now, to see if that makes a difference.

Regards, Dick

Hi Niels, thanks for sharing that. I thought about letting the app get into an idle mode at night, maybe that is a solution. Only problem is; when is the sun going down?
I’ve reached out to AP systems to get info about getting data from the ECU. For the web API there is a manual, for the ECU nothing.

Regards, Dick

Hi, was wondering what is the reason for not using the API if that is more stable?
