I read somewhere that the ECU pushes the data towards AP systems, where the app pulls the data from the ECU. I noticed that sometimes my ECU fails to send data in the morning, so after a few hours where there has been no solar power.
Today I released a version that ran on my Homey without any issues, and saw that already the app has crashed several times. That bothers me, but I don’t have a clue yet why it’s happening to others and not to me.
I saw messages to take the wifi antenna from the ECU and I did that. I can’t tell if this is helpfull or not, at this moment in time.
To force it to take the lan connection?
Removed. Sorry wrong app.
Someone send me a diagnostic report today, which might be helpful. The temperature was ridicously high. I’d like to know the amount of inverters, which type, and has one of them the serial number 901500089687?
It is possible to reply on the report ![]()
Hello Dick,
Your app is excellent, and being able to view the Apsystems data in aHomey is really great.
I have a system with 4x QT2 inverters and 6 kW of solar panels, and I’m having a problem. When the power output exceeds 4 kW, the graph stops updating and I get the error message in Homey “Unrealistic power value.” Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue?
Hello, It’s me with the serial number 901500089687.
I just wrote a post on the forum.
Yes, I am causing this
. In some cases, the reported power was in megawatts, so I build something of a calculation, with a max of 1000W per inverter. Seeing your message, I will have to modify that.
Thanks for sending me the diagnostics, by the way.
Edit: this was already changed, the maximum power is now default at 20kW. So I need to look further.
Not sure if this is discussed before (couldn’t find anything in this thread):
The app settings have a “Polling interval (minutes) (minutes) setting.
the default polling interval seems to be 5 minutes, but I like this to be less. I entered a value of “1”, but that does not seem to change anything. Is there a description of of how the polling settings work?
the ECU provides update every 5 min. setting it to less in the APS app than that will lead to the same data, until the ecu sends new data again. so won’t help. there is no more info there unfortunately
I see. Thanks Patrick
Oops, sorry Steven, I completely missed this message. Which report was that?
No problem, it was: Solar system from APsystems - #210 by Dick_J
Ah, I thought that you had send me a diagnostic report. I think the post from Villa_fournier is answered, correct or do you have another question?
Hi everyone
This app sounds great but I can’t find it in the Homey Pro Apps, could someone please provide a link?
Thanks!
Tim
Hi Tim you’ll find it here
Best regards Peter.
I’m currently working on getting the data from the web API. This I already have, but I need to test more and let the polling work better than it does now. I can’t test this right now, since I maxed out on my API calls
.
When that all functions well, I hope to release the app to the app store. It may take a while though, it’s all in my spare time
Hi Dick, Thx for your good work I admire your drive to developed this app.
Wish you success with further development.
Best regards Peter.
