I have installed 10 Smartwings Matter Over Thread roller shades in my Homey and they are great. I have a few flows that open and close the blinds at different times. Everything has worked very reliably until recently. We have three blinds immediately adjacent to each other in one bedroom. When these blinds open or close one or two of them won’t function. The stubborn blinds change - it’s not always the same ones.
When this happens I noticed you can’t control the shades with the app either. They seem to self-correct.
I’m not sure how to correct this. Any ideas? Thanks!
You mean you have a flow that opens or closes all three blinds at the same time?
If that’s the case, then that’s “normal”, in the sense that Homey hasn’t been able to control multiple devices from the same flow for many many years (and Athom seems to be unable/unwilling to fix this).
The common way around this is to introduce delays in between the action cards, or (possibly) chain them in an advanced flow:
It sounds like this may be “solved”, but did you connect the blinds over the “Connect via Homey Pro” installation when prompted initially or the other “Connect via Android” (or Apple equivalent). I tried installing one of the Matter blinds here and noticed the “Connect via Homey Pro” option never recognizes the pairing at all. I can “Connect via Android”, but the blinds are not controllable even though flows can be setup etc.
I’ll follow up here - essentially if anyone else runs into this and you do a factory reset, you’ll need to reset the upper and lower limits. They have a YT on it if needed: https://youtu.be/UPRn7-yaUxY
I was able to get the blinds to connect directly to Homey. They need to be close to one another to make the connection bc I think the initial comms are over blue tooth. Everything works and often works perfectly. Except every once in a while a blind will go rogue. It’s always one of the blinds in our bedroom where we have three blinds right next to each other. The other rooms don’t have issues.
I am going to add a couple of eve devices to see if I can bolster the Thread network to see if maybe that helps.
And those flows aren’t triggered at the same time?
Reason I’m asking is that Homey is often unable to control multiple devices at the same time when triggered from a flow (or from multiple flows that are triggered at the same time).
