Sensors stop working

I really wish that was true…

Did a double check of all my sensors since I had to factory reset my Homey on the 16th of December.
Since then it seems like the IKEA sensors are working fine (Vallhorn x3 and Vindstyrka x1).

The Aqara (temp and humidity sensor) and the Samsung (Heat pump with temp and humidity sensor) worked for a while (4 days for the heat pump and less than an hour for the Aqara sensors) then they got stuck.

Realized something reg. the Samsung Heatpump that I had not seen before.
Around the same time as it stopped reporting measurements the app was updated and started stating it is no longer supported.
I guess this might have caused the issue with this particular device.
When Trying to use the device I realize that all functions for it are not working. So this is def. the issue for this device.

Not reminding you in particular, Bretislav, but when I see posts about not responding Aqara sensors I always think of the IKEA lights.
I can reproduce this phenomenon @ Pro19:

  1. I added 12 Aqara sensors throughout the house, no router devices: 100% OK, no issues
  2. After a few months I added 3 Ikea filament lights and an Ikea plug: Aqara stopped reporting after some time, except for the contact sensors (they tend to never look for other routes).
The Aqara sensors which used the Ikea plug as hop kept reporting fine
  3. I replaced the Ikea lights by Lidl zigbee lights: no issues whatsoever

Out of curiosity and positive news about HA and zigbee2mqtt I moved the whole bunch to zigbee2mqtt. I also added the Ikea lights again: no issues whatsoever, so Z2M+Ikea+Aqara = 100% OK

Concerning the Pro23 my information source is the forum.
I’m not under the impression this specific problem is ever addressed (successfully).

The reason Aqara does not temporaryly stop reporting : it’s somehow not compatible with Ikea lighs routers, but also they stop looking for other routers to connect with.
Z2M (amongst others) seem to have workarounded this behaviour.

So if I understand this correctly:
Aqara tries to use the IKEA lights as routers.
The IKEA lights can’t handle this so Aqara stops working.
But if a Z2M hub is added the Aqara products will use it instead and will continue to work?

It’s about coordinator, not router it seems… but Aqara devices are generally very picky on choosing router and they are also famous on not selecting alternate route when needed. Not sure what Zigbee2MQTT did to work around that.

Isn’t that app that had been sabotaged by the developer to force users to use his App store? If so, Athom has reverted the change and it should be working again - share the link so we can confirm but I believe it’s not related to the ZigBee issues you are facing.

Please share your current view from Homey Developer Tools and beginning of the network key (not full)

I have been using this app:

But uninstalled it and am now using this one:

Functions work after change of app but sensors seem to not update.
Will give it a bit more time though before I conclude they dont.

The first one is from the developer I mentioned, so I would personally not be using it after seeing what happened. For the 2nd one, if you have any issues with the app, please ask in the correct thread - [App][Pro] SmartThings Community (was the HCS version 2) Live 2.0.28, Test 2.0.33

So for Zigbee related issues, try to share the information I mentioned.

Same problems here with Aqara and Ikea bulbs.

The only way to get the attention from Athom that this needs, is by keep reporting it and creating support tickets at Athom.

So I did again just now.
Hopefully all others complaining here (with reason!) will do the same:

As far as I know they didn’t, that issue still (somewhat) remains. In my experience, with z2m, an Aqara device will eventually find an alternative route if required, but it may take some time (hours). But it’s trivial to (re-)pair them if you’ve moved them, without losing any data, so that’s what I do if I have to move one (which is almost never).

I only have 3 Aqara sensors and I think the easiest solution me is to just not use them.

I had the same issue. I have changed the WIFI channel on my router and since then I have no problems anymore.

Interesting. I’ll try this.

Did a did a channel check and router said that there was some interruptions on channel one and it changed to channel two that had no interruptions.

This has to be from either Tuya or ZigBee devices cause I have no neighbours.

I did set up the Aqara sensor again and will update here on if it fixed issue.

The sensor has now worked for longer than ever.
(Except for one that was placed right next to Homey)
So I’m thinking this might be the solution to the issue.

Will give it a week before I click the solution button.

Putting wireless devices too close to the controller may backfire, deteriorating the connection. Let it ā€œbreatheā€ by increasing the distance.

In this case it was the opposite though.
The close one worked.
