No, that’s not the scope of this app.
Good morning,
First of all, a big thank you for this quality application!
The Ring Keypad 2’s tamper alarm remains on continuously, although I have set “no” in the dedicated settings. Do you have a solution?
THANKS
The tamper alarm is triggered when power is removed from the keypad. When power is removed the alarm will activate and stay active regardless if the settings is set to no.
This can be fixed by connecting the keypad to power. Next toggle the tamper alarm setting from off to on, and back to off. Now you can remove the power without triggering the tamper alarm.
Good morning,
Thank you for the response! It works perfectly.
Beautiful day
Perhaps it’s mentioned, tried to find it, but couldn’t… when I check my devices in the Heimdall app I can see my door /window sensors, but my ring cameras and doorbell don’t show.
Aren’t they available to use in the heimdall app as motion detectors?
I use the official Ring app, and there are no updates for the ring app and Heimdall app, so all up to date.
Hope to hear!
I have the Ring Basestation and Keypad v2. I installed everything but not configured or added it to Homey.
It seems that the keypad cannot be added to Homey if you already configured it already. I have to reset? It’s not possible to use it in both ways?
Thx in advance
No, the keypad uses Z-Wave to communicate and a Z-Wave device can only be connected to one Z-Wave network.
okay, thx
Is it possible to add the basestation?
No, the basestation is a Z-wave controller itself so it can not join another network.
What do you want to achieve? If you’re (just) looking to set the mode (disarmed, home, away) you can use the Ring Doorbell and Camera app. That app supports setting the mode of a location, the Ring Alarm system will follow the location’s mode.
True, but the basestation itself is also wi-fi or ethernet connected. As I understand now, the basestation creates it’s own Z-wave network for the other devices. So that’s why the question regarding the basestation popped up, because it’s IP connected.
Hi, Thanks for the app. Trying to add the Ring Sensor v2 and it is giving the “no compatible App found.”
Per the FAQ here is the information from the Advanced information section:
Manufacturer ID: 838
Product Type ID: 513
Product ID: 1537
Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks!
Hi Todd,
Which sensor are we talking about here? Motion, Contact,…?
Also, what region are you in? (Z-wave devices differ per region)
The Ring door sensor v2 (Contact)
US is the region.
Thanks
Thanks, I’ll add it to the app.
Device ID is added to the driver and submitted for approval, now we just have to wait for Athom to approve it.
Thanks. Got the new version. Re-paired it and it worked beautifully. Thanks for the quick turnaround.
Good to hear! If you have any other devices that have missing DeviceID’s just let me know and I’ll happily add them.
Hi, sorry for the dumb question.
I have the ring alarm system and the sensors linked to the base station.
To add for example a V2 door sensor I have to reset it. By doing this, does it then lose the connection with the base station?
Yes, all Ring alarm devices are z-wave devices which will only connect to one controller at one time.
Ring Alarm support will come to my other Ring app, keep en eye out on this topic: Ring Doorbell and Camera support for Homey
