I’m pretty usure all users of SHS wil, in hindsight, agree with Emile!
HI Emile. I titaly understand your point. But you have to take into account, that 80 % of dashboard users switches to HA Dashboards, because Homey Dashboards cannot fufill simple requirement. It is sad that a prime product as homey is, have a useless dashboard.
For my point of view the lack is:
- Lack of using 32” screen for family screen (calendar etc, in which are already supported).
- Scaleabily to support more columns in bigger screens. including screen resolution support.
- feature for chromecast dashboard to tv, would be awsome, even you cannot use touch.
I know youre busy, but getting dashboard to actually be used must be prio, since Homey now works way than 5 years ago.
At least and not last…I love your product, and Homey is the best platform i have worked with. I work in IT, and you have nailed a product, in which anybody can “Programme”. Even Apple must envy you for the easy way Homey works.
May I ask where you get this number from ?
Hello
Fortunately I have a macbook silicon it allows you to have the iPad application on the big screen and to make manipulations on the flows just a shame that the iPad silicon application does not take the advanced streams but hey I change to do and I do it in web version. ![]()
Just started using Homey and thought I finally found a use for my old Suface Go as a touchscreen control panel in our hallway. Sadly realized Dashboards and Kiosk Mode aren’t available on the web app, so huge +1 from me for adding that feature to my.homey.app! (If anyone knows a workaround, you could make me quite happy
)
Bluestack… Currently running BlueStack Neo 64 but want to test Bluestack 5…
I tried different options Like Android86 and ChromeOs but I can’t get it to work….
You can also get Android emulators here:
(Open Android Studio, click the 3 dots, “Virtual Device Manager“ and there you can create virtual devices)
This is what I use for emulator. You can install the Aurora Store to download the Homey app:
Is this more stable then Bluestack ? I occasionaly see Bluestack Neo loosing connection with Homey. But I’m not sure if it’s Bluestack itself or the Homey app…
Might try that, thanks for the idea. Was hoping to find a web based Dashboard in the Homey App Store, but I don’t think there’s one.
See my previous msg. but I’d rather stick with the native dashboard…
Still looking for a +13”or +14” tablet that doesn’t cost bodyparts (like an arm or a leg)…
There is the Redmi Pad Pro, but that one is only 12 inches. It costs €200-€300
No, I really want at least 13”…
I think Android studio works very well, but I haven’t run it for days in a row, just to display a dashboard. I think you should give it a chance.
Oh, talking about stability, I use linux OS instead of windows OS. Not bashing, but by using both for 30+ years, I know which is the stable one here ![]()
Windows runs fine, Bluestack runs fine maybe, and the dashboard inside bluestack halts after app. 1 or 2 days…
Not sure if it’s bluestack, Homey app or just a faulty netwerkconnection…
I don’t use it for the Homey dashboard, I only use it for reverse engineering Android apps and intercepting their network communication.
I’m currently running Bluestacks 5.22.162.1016 Android 13 (Beta) on Win 11 Pro 25H2 for Hue and Homey.
Homey certainly doesn’t stay solid for long, Hue is better but not brilliant.
Neither are suitable for long term ergonomic viewing, hence the reason for this topic.
That doesn’t matter much for Hue as it’s not a serious development platform, but Homey aspires to be.
Please Homey, in return for buying one of the dearest Hubs on the market, will you please prioritise a solid ergonomic PC based Dashboard that I (if nobody else) can regard as ‘professional’.
Workarounds with Bluestacks are just that - temporary workarounds and not stable.
While you’re at it why not enable backups to the PC without needing re-plugging and re boots - there are better cash-cows than charging for cloud based back-ups.
A missed opportunity for not having a web interface for Dashboards. It opens up allot of possibilities now when there is a selfhosted version of Homey.
It could replace Homarr with widgets to monitor your docker containers and so much more. It would become the center of your Homelab.
