[Request] Web interface

I have just released Dashboard Studio. It is more of a design tool that isn’t bound by rigid columns or grids, so you can build your own dashboard pixel-perfect. It supports layering elements, and almost every parameter can be dynamically coupled to Homey, like linking the color of a light to a background element. It has also lots of style templates. It generates a webpage, which means any device with a modern browser can display it.

I should be clear that it is not as simple to use as the standard Homey Dashboard. However, if you want full control over the exact positioning and look of everything, this might be for you. There is no support for camera feeds though. I have looked into it, but getting a real-time feed inside a webpage is surprisingly difficult. I do show a camera feed, but it is sending snapshots URL’s ever 0.5 seconds to an image widget. It is currently in test mode, but feel free to check it out if you are interested:

I did the same and then got castigated by some smart **** for not having read up properly before I purchased!

The fact is, it is a perfectly normal assumption, based on the narrative and normal expectations of other such devices. The Dashboard blurb is guilty of misleading by omission.

Anyway hopefully the powers that be will eventually find someone to do this and recognise its importance to the user - a mobile is unsuitable for many, especially as they get older and less dexterous.

Thanks for joining the crowd.

Like most people here, in an ideal world there would exist both

A) the ability to edit Advanced Flows on a tablet - in my case Android

B) the ability to edit and display Homey dashboards in a Windows browser page

BUT I AM NOT ASKING FOR THOSE as i understand there are major technical difficulties and considerable resource commitment to achieve

MY PRAGMATIC REQUEST is to be able to simply view the content of an advanced flow on a mobile tablet device. Thus my proposal is…..

In a browser page on an Android tablet, user can request to view an advanced flow. Behind the scenes Homey generates a PDF image of the flow and allows the user to other download or display in browser. Creation of the PDF does not need to be done on the end-user device, it can be a “server-side” activity

I don’t mind enormously having to get out my windows device to develop flows, but I use Android mostly for using Homey (when not using scene controllers, wall-mounted switches etc). It is very frustrating, especially when diagnosing an issue, not to simply be able to answer the question “I can’t remember how that flow works - what is it doing?”

Maybe I don’t understand what you are trying to say, but I edit my advanced flows for 90% of the time with a browser on an Adroid tablet, and small adjustments are done on an Android phone.
You only need to grab your laptop/pc mouse (USB/Ble) to make it 100% usable.

Which is fine for those who use Android tablets etc.

But for those who want to use standard windows PCs - a very large number if not the majority I would have thought, then Flows and Dashboards need to be available in that format - especially for those of us with reduced dexterity.

Surely someone can help and write a Windows interface please?

Thank you. I am very surprised and stand corrected. I did not know you could open the webapp in Android tablet and edit flows (after 2.5 years of having a Homey)
