Repairing (re-pairing) of sensor inheriting its old insights log?

There should always be an alternative to reinstalling (re-pairing) a “dead” sensor keeping its name, position in the tree and its insights log data. Otherwise the data loss can be tremendous, why is that?

AFAIK you can just pair it again without removing it first.

No, this is not what I have experienced! You shouldn’t be forced to pair a “new device”, weather it’s actually a replacement or a retry with the old one. It is a question of maintaining a named role and a history in the system. If the third party manufacturer doesn’t support the Repair popup menu item, the Homey system should take care of it. That’s my point…

Makes sense, but you should write to Athom about that, while we can’t adjust the firmware.

Oh from what I’ve read, the Homey Pro 2023 actually does have a device repair option for zigbee devices
