Good evening,
I intend to purchase the Homey Pro Mini and I have a question to clarify.
Given that each zigbee device must be paired with the BRIDGE/Gateway, I would like to know if in the event of the Homey Pro breaking, replacing it with a new one and carrying out the restore it is necessary to repeat the pairing with all the devices or if the same is achieved automatically with the restore.
Does this also apply to the Mini?
Thank you
Als long as the device isn’t released and available it is guessing…
For what we know now:
For replacing the old sphere Homey with a new Pro 2023 you need to re-pair every zigbee.
Wirhin the same family a restore it shouldn’t be necessary to repair.
It would be logical that a restore of a mini backup on a mini should work without repairing.
First of all, thank you for the reply.
It would be very nice if that were the case.
I think the recognition of the various Zigbee devices could be done by Homey because the restore should also load the related unique identifiers.
Unfortunately I believe that the Zigbee coordinator of the Homey Pro has a statically assigned 64-bit unique identifier. If instead it were possible to change it like the Mac address of PCs then it would be possible.
However, I don’t know these features.
I don’t have an old Homey sphere but I would like to upgrade to Homey and I think the Pro 23 and Pro Mini should behave the same way (I assume the core of the system is the same).
Therefore designers and manufacturers should be able to tell us.
Correct but don’t expect them to react here on the community. You need to contact them directly but that also probably won’t result in answering your question before the official release.
I hope not. I see several “improvement challenges”
I thank you.
I tried to write but I haven’t gotten a response yet. I’ll wait
