PTP needed but no physical access to Homey...any idea?

Hi all,

my Homey Pro Early 2019 is facing serious memory issues since 6 days.

I left my home mid January and since than I did not any single change (apps, flows, devices) in Homey.

I have no option to perform a PTP in the next 2 months. Any idea what I can do from remote? I already deleted some not used apps and stopped all other apps manually. After soft reset nothing changed.

I also get the spawn ENOMEM error which is somehow connected to the memory topic.

thx

Daniel

Why do you really need a PTP, have you tried a normal restart of your Homey jet ?

That’s probably what they mean by “soft reset”.

yes several times. I searched for spawn ENOMEM message and found PTP as a possible solution. Reboot changed nothing so far.

New firmware was released on February 2 (link). Have you enabled automatic firmware updates?

The same applies to app updates!?

For future use: when onsite, connect the power unit to mains with a wifi smart socket in between.
Now you can remotely cut Homeys’ power for several minutes.

F.e. Shelly wifi devices can be operated from anywhere.

If you d/l and configure the app ofcourse…

Sure, but I figured he can find out himself

yep lesson learned. Quite funny because Homey was running 5 years without problems and as soon as I skip winter in Thailand the madness starts

running on 12.10.0, APPs and Homey is on Auto Update but nothing happens due to the memory issue

Indeed. You need to make sure that you can control that specific plug via another way than Homey though. Otherwise you cannot switch on the plug remotely anymore, after Homey has been powered down .

So a WiFi plug that can also be controlled e.g. via its own mobile app is indeed an option, assuming you have enabled the cloud access feature.

Here I also assumed this would be obvious, by this sentence: “Shelly can be operated from anywhere”.
But, the additional info is much appreciated of course

Cool!

short update: I sent some remote hands to my place to do the PTP. After restarting I heard Homey talking something (I never experienced that Homey speaks while rebooting). Whatever, right now Homey stays offline…I think the hardware is defective….
