Presence events triggering issues

Hi,

I’ve set two presence flows:

1 when I come home, turn entrance light on

2 when I go away, turn off all lights

Problem is entering and leaving home events are sometimes triggered for apparently no reason at all or not triggered when it should have been. When I come back home sometimes entrance light doesn’t turn on and I’ve checked that no coming home event was triggered. Also some minutes ago I was in the kitchen (as I am right now) and lights turned off. Checked on homey and saw that the leaving home event was triggered but I never moved from here.

Anyone can help me? Thanks

What type of presence monitoring do you use?

Can you please post the flows?

Switchbot presence sensor with Govee lamps. I kept working on it and found out that “leaving home” can be a false trigger ‘cause it’s based not only on smartphone position but also on Homey hub connection and other parameters, so yesterday could have been a fast temporary disconnection or something like it. I’ve installed CountDown and introduced a minute delay in the flows. Not tested yet.

That wasn’t what I meant, and it raises even more questions for me. But maybe I misunderstood you completely.
So I’m asking you again to post your flows.

I’ve got two leaving home flows.

Flow 1: WHEN last person leaves home THEN start countdown timer (60 seconds)

Flow 2: WHEN timer reaches zero AND nobody is home THEN turn off all lights

So you’re using the Homey build-in presence monitoring with geofencing via Smartphone?
Or do you use an additional Homey presence app like Smart Presence, hat detects presence via WiFi?

I’m using the build-in monitoring.

Okay, but what does that have to do with your Switchbot Presence Sensor?
Are there any other flows in which the SwitchBot Presence Sensor may turn the lights on or off?

Sorry, Switchbot sensor reference is wrong, I’ve got only one in the bathroom to detect presence and switch lights on/off, in an other completely distinct flow.

Presence via wifi can be a good criteria, I’ll try to install that app, thank you.

I’m not a fan of presence monitoring via WiFi, but try it out for yourself.

You can also try a third-party geofencing smartphone app, such as Owntracks. The smartphone app is free and available for both Apple and Android. There is also a dedicated Homey app (link).

However, if you are experiencing significant issues with the built-in presence monitoring and you are relatively sure that the problem is related to the Homey smartphone app, you should contact Athom support.
