Ping router zigbee device and mark it on

Fellow Homey owners,

Last week I bought the Homey Pro 2023 to replace my old 2016 Homey. With my old Homey I had the problem that the status of my Hue, Innr lights was not displayed correctly in the app. The light was switched on manually and in the app the status was off. Is there a possibilty with the new homey to automatically check if the lights are on or off?

This should just work automatically. If it doesn’t, you need to contact the app developer to ask them why “reporting” doesn’t work (assuming that you also have the Hue devices connected to your Homey over Zigbee, and not via the Hue hub).

Thank you for your reply. Indeed I use hue without the bridge and for INNR it’s the official app and those lights also behalve in a similar way. Then I will contact Athom (edit INNR) first about this.

But you wrote

Do you encounter the same problems with the new Homey?

Or does this line mean it is?

I have the same problem with the new Homey

I’ve read many posts about INNR and Homey not being 100% compatible.
If possible, update INNR firmware. It might be possible per Hue hub.

I’m not under the impression Athom will address the ‘remaining’ current zigbee issues, looking at all ‘the new stuff’ they are busy with…
But this is just my impression.

You can always drop INNR a line, I’m curious if they have any ideas about the cause :
homey@innr.com (as mentioned @ homey.app store app page)

I have send INNR an E-mail and posted an issue on the github page of the developer of the Hue app without the bridge.

As for your other question. After purchasing my new Homey I have setup my zigbee network from scratch. Before I did this I paired them to the hue bridge to update the firmware of the bulbs. Updating the INNR bulbs is not possible without the INNR bridge which I dont have.

So the hue bulbs have the latest firmware and still behave this way.

Thanks. Did you first fix the wifi 2.4GHz channel, to preferably 1, 6 or 11?
When you reset zigbee (you have to start over!), Homey should search for a quiet channel automatically.
Here’s a must read:

Yep. Did all that and after setting everything up zigbee is stable with 24 devices except this issue which only occurs when manually switching on/off.

Could you elaborate what you mean with ”manually switching on and off”?

If you use a normal wall switch and remove the power from your zigbee devices, they will not report anything to the zigbee network. You should have smart switches instead.

I meant on. I understand that reporting is not possible in off state

Ok, you should really keep smart devices always on and control only by the zigbee. Removing power from them will impact the zigbee network.
