P1 dongle reads electricity, but no gas data due to two registered gas meters?

I’m having trouble reading my gas usage through the P1 connection. My electricity data is coming through correctly and can be read in Homey, but no gas readings are being received.

My electricity meter (ISKRA AM550) reports two gas meters:

  • Gas meter number: 1191***** — 0.001 m³

  • Gas meter number: 2105**** — approximately 3710 m³

The second number corresponds to the UNIFLO G4SRT gas meter installed in my home. However, I cannot find the first meter number anywhere.

Could the first one belong to an old, temporary, or faulty gas meter that is still registered but no longer sends any readings? Perhaps the dongle selects this inactive meter and therefore cannot read the data from the correct gas meter.

Is this likely to be a fault or defect in the P1 dongle, or is this a known issue when a smart electricity meter reports multiple gas meters?

Maybe you need to contact your grid operator, maybe they installed a faulty meter and then swapped it out but forgot to remove the old one.

Thanks Sven, I was planning to do so. But before I do, I was wondering: is this a limitation of the Homey energy dongle - that it only supports one (and the first) gas reading?

It wouldn’t surprise me if Athom has never considered that homes might have more than one gas meter.

I’ve seen this behavior before as well on HomeWizard P1. The old gas meter still is registered but not active. The P1 / telegram records include a timestamp of last update, hence the method used to flag the correct one. But in general this is a lack of housekeeping of the energy distributor (e.g. Netherlands Stedin, Liander, Enexis etc)

You’re correct. Just asked support and they replied almost instantly:

At the moment, Homey can’t select between multiple gas meters. The dongle reads the gas channel your meter exposes first, and there’s no in‑app option to choose another one. I’ve added this to our feature request list although I cannot give a ETA on if or when this will be implemented but we very much appreciate you giving us this info!
