Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on getting the most out of this app beyond the basic setup (which I’ve already done and works fine).
Specifically:
When connecting with Google Home(or any hub for that “matter”), I notice duplicate devices showing up. Should those be deleted in Google Home, or in the Homie app? Can someone do a video on it perhaps of best practices?
Is it better practice to uninstall devices that were previously connected before setting up through this app?
For devices that support Matter, should they be connected via Matter first so they automatically sync with both Homie and Google Home, And which one should you prioritize for maximum functionality?
Should you delete the native app that’s linking it to Google Home to prioritize the matter link ect?
And / Or when multiple devices & multiple links are active for the same device should there be a preferred to linking method? For example, delete all the other link methods and just use the matter bridge app to avoid conflicts?
I’d love to hear what best practices others are using to avoid duplicates and ensure the cleanest, most efficient setup.
What I understand is that you then need to make sure your phone is connected to a WiFi network that gives access to the same home network that your Homey uses (they need to be able to communicate with each other). You would then provide the password of that WiFi network during the setup.
Today I successfully connected to Amazon with the Homey Matter Bridge. I have my HP23 connected via Ethernet only. When asked I provided WiFi password when requested. I have also noticed duplicates kinda. When selected the device I wish to share with Alexa it shows up in 2 parts. The first is a matter device with the original name of device and then it creates another device which it allows control of like turning a plug on and off. I assume this is what is supposed to happen. Seems strange that it does that.
How do you know the WiFi password? When I try to connect to my smartingshub (in my Samsung TV) I also get the question to enter a WiFi password but in do not recognize the ssid.
I was presented with a choice of WiFi options (all within range) and selected my own so I knew the password. Does it give you the option to type your ssid?
Hi All,
I have also a question.
I have downloaded the Matter bridge app but got stuck when I want to configure the app with the QR code.
It asks me to connect with a matter controller app. I use TADO with a bridge and also the home wizard energy app.
But I do not know how to connect.
Somebody can help me out?
Do you understand the purpose of the Matter Bridge app? It sounds like you want to add Matter devices to Homey, but that’s not what the Matter Bridge app is for.
