Since my Popp Z-Wave smoke detectors don’t work, I’ve replaced them with 9 Next ones, and installed the Nest App https://apps.athom.com/app/com.nest
I added my Nest Protect Smoke and CO Alarm device, but Homey doesn’t see to be able to do anything with it. e.g. when I test the Nest Protect Smoke and CO Alarm, Homey reports nothing.
It shows simple shows a CO and Smoke icon with NO written under each. What ‘support’ is the app supposed to give exactly?
Get emergency notifications for smoke, carbonoxide and battery level
Use the Nest Away state in your Flows
Use HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) in your Flows:
HVAC state (actively heating, actively cooling or not active) trigger and condition;
HVAC mode (heating mode, cooling mode, heating and cooling mode, eco mode or system is off) trigger, condition and action.
If set in a thermostat’s device settings: Homey can override that thermostat’s eco HVAC mode to regain control of the target temperature.
Apparently it can only display temperature and only emergency notifications for CO, smoke and battery. I figure testing is not the same as an actual alarm.
But if you want to be sure, ask the developer of the app, he must know.
The test button does not send a smoke alarm to homey.
But I successfully tested the smoke alarm with the nest protect in the kitchen without a test spray and Homey said that nest protect reported smoke alarm.
