I’m brand new to honey coming from Hubitat. I’m trying to write a flow that monitors a garage freezer using a contact sensor. I want the flow to send me a notification if the freezer door stays open for more than two minutes, but can’t figure out how to write the flow. I have the when wrote as if the contact sensor opens but can’t find the option for if it stays open for two minutes. Can someone help?
Hi Phil,
I have linked some topics with the same use case. And of course also with various solutions.
I need help setting up a smart flow for a timeline alarm when a door is open more then x time
Would like to create a flow which advises me if the fridge door remains open for more than 30sec
Thanks for sharing those links, DirkG, very helpful! I’m following this thread too since I’ve got a similar setup I’m trying to sort out for a balcony door. Seeing how others approached this with timers and conditions is giving me a few ideas to test. Appreciate the pointers!
In a advanced flow:
If contact is on
Wait 2 minutes
And contact is still on.
Then send an alarm
Standard flow needs more than one flow.
First add a counter like: freezer is open
-
If contact is on, start a counter for 2 minutes
-
If counter is empty
And freezer door is open
Then send an alarm
And Kathy, change freezer for balcony door.
