Must 433mhz temp sensors be changed?

Hi,
Just bought a Homey Pro 2023. Have until now used Tellstick znet lite v2 where a number of 433 temp/hygro/rain/wind sensors of diffeent brands, all 433mhz though, have worked fine. I have, via the Homey app “wireless weather sensors” been able to find some of my sensors but many of them have very bad connection. They drop out for hours and days, partly depending on distance.

Initial guesses are that the recieving antenna is too weak in the Homey, but It might be something else.

How to proceed? Is it easiest to buy new sensors with another protocol or are there any decent work arounds to get 422 stuff stable?

If they ought to be changed… Any suggestions of what would be nice alternatives…?

thanks

That would be a good guess.

Buying other sensors with a different communication protocol will not solve the the problem of weak Homey Antenna’s. Although Zigbee and Z-Wave do support mesh networks which could bridge distance problems.

thanks for reply… Are you saying that there’s no really good solution here? Homeys antenna is what it is unless you hack and solder… Does it imply that no temp sensors actually work well with the homey at all, no matter protocol?

When you buy Zwave or Zigbee tempsensors just make sure there are enough Zwave/Zigbee devices between Homey and the sensor to forward the radio signal using the same technology.
