Hi all, I’ve had Homey Pro running my home since march, CCTV, around 40 lights, door locks, two heating zones, weather stations, sensors, many, many flows and it’s been amazing! However, the past maybe 3 weeks I’ve started having issues, at first a single light wouldn’t turn off (Ikea), then a room of lights (Philips Hue), then a sensor wouldn’t re-pair (Ikea). It just seems like a cascade of errors. The apps themselves are up to date and haven’t had an update released in the past few months.
It’s just odd and I can’t seem to find a cause, anyone else been having issues? I’m going to restore from back-up form end of October and maybe that will sort it?
On the last days all my Amazon Echo devices (3 different models) and also my Samsung Air Conditioner can no longer be controlled via homey. I tried restarting Homey, resetting it and installing a previous backup, reinstalling the apps, reconnecting the Amazon and Samsung accounts, but nothing worked. Is it possible to flash a previous firmware? Does anyone know how (if it’s possible)?
The devices are a mixture because I had the hubs before I had Homey Pro and I haven’t completely paired all of the lights directly, some are via the hub. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious difference either, the lights in a bathroom are Ikea GU10 bulbs with a Styrbar remote that are not via the hub and they have an issue. The office is the same buld type and switch but do go through the Ikea hub but have also had an issue.
I have a Homey Pro Backup subscription and today I factory reset the Homey Pro and restored from a backup from 1st November, I’ll see how it reacts over the next 24hrs.
It’s a common issue (and one that has existed for many years now) that Homey cannot reliably control many (more than 3) devices at the same time. Pairing issues are also quite common.
Sometimes it helps switching Homey’s power supply, but often you need to implement workarounds (like introducing delays).
Just tested further and strangely, most switches are not working anymore, Ikea and other 3rd party ones. I tried a shortcut button that controls 3 lights in one room and only 1 bulb responded. The common element is Homey but it’s all worked (almost) perfectly since March. Homey is powered via the official ethernet adapter. @robertklep do you think that the USB and plug needs changing? That seems unconnected to the symptoms?
I’ve rebooted all the hubs, factory reset Homey Pro and recovered from an earlier backup, I changed Homey Pro from the official USB-C / Ethernet adapter to be on a new power supply and cable and it’s now connected to WiFi.
Nothing is helping, constant timeouts on multiple devices, mainly lightbulbs, even running flows directly rather than from a switch produces random errors.
Nothing has changed within my configuration that caused this, I can only attribute it to an update that Homey Pro has received has broken it.
I’ll try and erase and re-pair some devices to see if that makes any difference but I doubt it will.
If anyone else is seeing similar please let me know and also if you were able to fix.
