[Matter] IKEA DIRIGERA hub en IKEA Home smart - Central topic

I understand @robertklep but I’m only talking about the Homey capabilities, not Apple Homekit or Home Assistant

I guess I was triggered by the factual incorrectness that you need a Dirigera hub for update Matter IKEA devices :man_shrugging:t3:

Can confirm that this works, thank you!

Just installed a HomePod mini and made with succes a connection with my myggspray. So concluding it has the latest firmware and it’s not broken because connection with HomePod worked! But still can’t get it to connect to homey. What should be my next step? How to connect to my homey

Tried, but that gave an error. Then I reactivated pairing on the Bilresa itself and connected to HomePod. That worked, but the actions in HomeKit are useless compared to Homey flows…

So removed from HomePod again and repaired with Homey, and the button presses don’t do anything anymore. So something in the Homey Matter or IKEA home app implementation has an issue

Just got to complete my connection from the myggspray. I think my solution was to start with a connected device?? I also purchased the alpstuga today. Just for fun to see if I could like this device. So wasn’t on my priority list. But after getting the myggspray fail and completing on a HomePod, o started thinking so it’s a homey thing. What if I try the alpstuga. And it connected in 10 seconds. So I concluded homey thread network is ok. Let’s try the myggspray again. And just like the alpstuga it paired in seconds. So case closed for me I hope. Starting to test the devices now to see how reliable they are.

Same problem here. The cards are still availalbe, but the function does not work.
When i create a new flow it works fine. UNtill a few hours later it stops again.
It looks like it looses the connection or something. (timmerflote workes just fine)

A restart of the IKEA Home app causes the button flow cards from a Bilrease to disappear. A reboot of the Homey Pro will restore the cards.

Its time for fix

My Homey Pro updated itself to 12.11.0, and the release notes mentioned several Matter fixes. Now the Bilresa showed as disconnected, and after a repair it’s finally working again now!

Unfortunately, version 12.11.0 doesn’t fix the issue with the BILRESA button. When the IKEA Home smart app is restarted, the flowcards disappear from the buttons. Only the battery flowcards are available. Restarting the entire Homey will restore the flowcards.

I’ve created a support ticket about this.

Update:

For now I have added more kajplats lights instead of ZigBee and it looks stabiel for now, 3 myggspray sensors stay connect.

Bilresa connect but no flow cards.

The distance between:

Homey - Light1 6mtr. ; light1 - Light2(outside) 2mtr. ; light2 - light3(garage) 4 mtr.

Because I had already 3 cheap Chinees Matter battery sensors connect with Homey over 12mtr. without a problem I think the power of the Ikea products isn’t great and maybe ZigBee signals makes it worse.

Those cheap chinese matter devices, are they also over Thread, or are they using Wifi for transport?

Ikea is using matter over thread. Matter over wifi does not attribute to the thread-network, so are not comparable on that.

No, NEO door sensor over Thread

Hello,

One more update to share.

After initial change of wifi to channel 11, the new matter devices were stable.
Then I turned on my wifi guest network, which also broadcasts on 2.4 with no way of “tweaking” the 2.4. Some Ikea Matter devices became unresponsive and had to be “repaired”.

Turned guest wifi off and no issues.

With guest wifi on again, same disconnects happened.

Have turned OFF the guest wifi now for more then 10 days, and all my “test” devices, flows all remain stable/connected (some close to homey and 1 around 15 m away in the garage).

If this remains stable for the next few weeks, then I will try another “test” setup using the dirigera hub.
