Lumance sensor for curtains?

I’m trying to figure out what type of luminance sensor to buy to get for automated shades & curtains.

I’m hoping to find somewhat reliable device that works with Homey (Pro), Zigbee or Matter over Thread, to detect direct sun on some of our windows. I saw few pointers towards Aqara and Xiaomi but unsure if there are tested/verified brands and models that works?

I’m using the Aqara ones (I believe the Luminance T1?) in different places and they work pretty well. I also have a Shelly WS90 weather station outside, which I use for a global luminance value and to compare against.

Aqara Light Sensor T1 .

The Aqara light sensor T1 is discontinued and not possible to buy anywhere (at least not in Europe, Nordics).

Any other sensor?
I am searching but can literally not find any luminance light sensors anywhere. I want them for sunshine detection and smart blinds too

It is available on AliExpress. I never found one in Europe either.

Yes, I just realized the same; Light Sensor T1 Not available…

I’m usin one of my IKEA VALLHORN’s as luminance sensor at the moment.

It works fairly well (not great) and will be replaced as soon as I can find something that works more accurately. I ordered one cheap from AliExpress just to see how these are compared to VALLHORN.

I see, I will order from Ali then!

Local Aqara resellers carry the entire catalogue except the light sensor, strange. It seems like the only reasonable sensor.

I do have a Ikea Vallhorn for motion, as light measuring it is not very good at all.

Why not the ikea myggspray?
Is it not any good?

The MYGGSPRAY is an air quality sensor — I don’t think it has a luminance sensor built in. Worth double-checking the specs before ordering.

No it’s not, motion and lux sensor

Even according to IKEA support the luminance sensor in MYGGSPRAY is there and might give somewhat accurate result but nothing IKEA guarantees, supports or even mentions.

I have 2 MYGGSPRAY outdoors and they give different readings even sittning next to eachother…

Support guy just says “It’s a motion sensor”.

Ok i was just wondering.
Since mine is working like it should.

But I have only one, and just for basic stuff.
Like turn lights on when lux is below 50lx and off when above 200lx and so on

Even Vallhorn is really really bad as lux sensor… All those motion + light combined is really bad other than detecting if there is motion, if there is light. Not what kind of light.

The idea with a light sensor for smart blinds i.e. on the balcony is to measure the a very specifix lux from sunshine. Not if there is light but exactly how strong it is

Yepp, it goes to 1365lux and that’s it.
It can be quite cloudy and it’s still on max value.
That’s the main reason why I’m looking for a separate luminance sensor.

I don’t think so—not everywhere…

The Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Lichtsensor have found it here: https://zdvshop.nl/en/winkel/aqara-lichtsensor-t1-zigbee-3-0/

The site seems reliable, a one mens business. I have ordered the lightsensor and a Tuya plug.

I’m using the Philips hue light sensors, they work always.

There are at least 6 sensors here and the last time I had to do something is 2 or three years ago when one of the batteries died.

They are genuinely set it and forget it.

No offence but why not answer in English?
Entire thread is English so…

Could You please tell what sensor You are using.
I couldn’t find any Philips Hue luminance sensor on Amazon.

Aqara T1 are really good. You can point them to the outside and they can distinguish between daylight and direct sun hitting the sensor
