I’ve installed LG WebOS and successfully added my TV as a device. However, when I try to create a simple flow, neither the power on nor off commands work. The TV just stays in its current state.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
The only function I found is called “Always Ready,” which I have enabled based on the information that the TV should be prepared in standby mode. I haven’t found any other relevant settings except for Quick Start+.
The TV has been tested with both WiFi and a LAN cable. I have seen different IP addresses for each connection type, and the TV has been registered in the router. The router is a GL-iNet MT2500, in which I found AdGuard, but this function is disabled.
I have also verified that the TV, Homey, Google Home, and my iPhone are set not to use the VPN tunnel.
When I use the LG ThinQ app to search for the TV, it is found when connected via LAN. However, the app on my iPhone then responds that I need to connect my iPhone to the same WiFi network. This seems completely illogical, I have only one network segment, and all WiFi and LAN-connected devices are in the same segment: 192.168.0.x, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. WiFi is provided through Tp-Link Deco S7 access points, and the guest network is disabled.
Regarding your question about client isolation, I can’t answer that since I cannot find such a setting in the router.
I have also managed to install the LG ThinQ app in Homey. There, I can pair the TV and control certain functions, such as turning it off. However, turning the TV on does not work.
This is because your phone only can use Wifi.
They actually mean: connect to the same subnet, or segment as you call it. Of course it doesn’t matter whether devices are connected by Wifi or by Lan, as long as it’s the same subnet, like 192.168.1.x
@Peter_Kawa, thanks for the info. Even though your TV isn’t the same as mine, I found the mobile setting. I have now enabled that setting, and it works. There’s a lot for LG to improve. The layout of the features is a complete mess. They could sort and group the settings much better.
@Marius, thanks for your reply. Since I already have some experience using development code in my Homey for Zigbee, I figured it shouldn’t be too difficult to run the suggested WebOS Plus code. Now it’s installed in my Homey, and I will test it tomorrow.
True. It should reside under Network, or under Energy imho.
And they should hire a decent translator, and have some random non-tech users testing … ah well, who am I
I’ve used the WebOS plus app, by Max, as well, the best Homey LG webos app imho.
I have now spent some time trying to add a new device, but I haven’t been successful. I can see that WebOS Plus is installed, but it doesn’t find my TV, which is turned on during the search.
To have a clean Homey installation, I chose to uninstall Athom’s LG apps. I can’t find any WebOS Plus card under Flow.
Is there anything I should look for to figure out what’s not working? I’m attaching some screenshots in case they provide any clues.
I would really like to check the options for this app, but there are none visible, unlike in other apps where I can easily see them. In the first previously attached screenshot, the “Configure” option is missing.
@melectro ,The LG-television needs a static IP-adress from your DHCP device or if you set in the television itself. There is no global configuration for this application, as @Peter_Kawa already has made clear.
@Peter_Kawa included a television from 2018, and I have a television from 2024. It should not be a issue too include the television. What version of the WebbOS do you have on the television?
But most of all, do you still encounter issues?
After inclusion the setting page for the device looks like this:
