Is this possible

Hi all I am a newbie to the homey community, but I have managed to set up all my Hue lights, ring doorbell and alarm, Tado and Aqara presence sensor FP300 with my new Homey pro mini and Homey bridge (after reading all the help here). Here is my question my kitchen lights (6 Hue spotlights) are currently controlled by a hue dimmer switch (all of these are connected to a hue bridge and then to Homey via hue app) is it possible to add a motion sensor to initially switch them on, then change the brightness with the dimmer switch and finally get the motion sensor to switch them off when motion is no longer detected. I have read that motion sensors and dimmers don’t play well together. Sorry I have to say that as I am 70 years old it is to late for me to learn how to code so if this is possible I will have to use the cards in an advanced flow. Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe you could use the “room became active” and “room became inactive (for x minutes)” for switching those lights on and off.As longs as the presence sensor is also in the kitchen zone.

It shouldn’t interfere with using the remote for adjusting dim level.

Edit: If you’d also like to manually control the lights (via the remote), have a look at this post (or the post below it)

Yes definitely possible just using the cards.

As anoniemand mentioned the “zone activity cards work best fot this

The dimmer switch will still work like you are used to.

Only things is: the zone becomes inactive and then active again the initial flow will run again. So it will adjust the dimlevel again (but also that can be fixed)

For the you can use zone activity cards again, choose the last option and fill a time for inactivity

Dont recognize that issue.

good luck trying, if you need help the forum can help you out…

Thanks Anoniemand and FKey for all your help, got it up and running using the flows that you both suggested. You also disproved an old English proverb, with your help “you can teach an old dog new tricks” Thanks again
