IKEA Home Smart Matter Devices - Test in the wild

Hi all, I’m testing some new Ikea matter devices. Test results so far:

  1. Bilresa 2 button remote - BILRESA afstandsbediening, wit smart/dubbele knop - IKEA Able to connect to homey only once, but is not functioning correctly - after reset, no longer able to add it to homey. Any others testing this at the moment?
  2. Timmerflotte - TIMMERFLOTTE temperatuur-/vochtigheidssensor, smart - IKEA Working correctly for over 1 week now without any problems.

Will test additional devices later.

I’m using the official homey ikea home smart app and latest homey firmware. I noticed that the devices should be very near to homey during the configuration phase.

Those cheap matter devices are no routers in the Thread network, so signal strength will also be a challenge in my setup. Does anyone know if existing homey zigbee connected router devices will also relay matter thread?

Keep you posted …

Also tried to add them to Apple home to test, they work instantly on Apple HomeKit via Matter.

ZigBee devices can only extend the ZigBee mesh, Thread is a different mesh network AFAIK

They don’t. But since you are linking Dutch IKEA pages - ALPSTUGE is a Thread router and available in most (?) Dutch IKEA stores. The CO2 sensor is what you’d expect for the price (quite noisy), easily bested by a SenseAir S88 (only 22 Euro + what you can get an ESP32 for).

My TIMMERFLOTTE also worked for a week, until I commissioned an ALPSTUGE and it didn’t come back. Had to do a factory reset of TIMMERFLOTTE and commission it again.

I also have a KAJPLATS, which has been ok so far. Some KAJPLATS models still support Zigbee (you have to power cycle it 12x rather than the normal 6x to get it in Zigbee pairing), though I haven’t tested it with Homey, but for those models it works with Zigbee2MQTT.

Update - had to remove the TIMMERFLOTTE because I had issues with Aqara mini buttons on Zigbee - not functioning anymore. Checked batteries, reconnect, remove and reconnect - nothing helped. Removed the TIMMERFLOTTE and it started working again … Will try again later.

I am also having issues with BILRESA (both scroll wheel and two button). Works for a while and then says ‘Device Unavailable’. Let me know if you figure anything out.

I purchased three Myggspray motion detectors. Put one on my patio that was connected to my Homey Pro that was about 20 feet from the sensor. It went on and off line 5 minutes to 45 minutes. Next day, it was unavailable so I had to re-scan it back into Homey Pro. I put a matter over thread router plug about 6 feet from the sensor to improve the matter thread mesh network but it still kept going off line. Brought it inside about 15 feet line of site from the Homey Pro and it still kept going on an off. I’ll be returning all tree.

None of my Aqara P2 contact sensors or Onvis S4 plugs have yet to disconnect.

same problems sometimes bildresa works, sometimes it doesn’t. it’s unusable. the thread sensors I bought from IKEA work great.

I have 9 Timmerflotte directly connected to HP.e23..via matter …in use for temp_input to VThermo app to manage my heating….they work great (Timmerflotte)…they report temp_changes in 0.1C° used ‘em for 3 weeks now…firmware 1.10.18….was updated to 1.10.21 (except for 1) so I‘m satisfied so far ..Bilresa 2 button connected first to Dirigera HUB then shared via matter to HP.e23 works ok

I bought 4 timmerflotte few weeks ago… I connected the 4 directly to my HP23 with Ikea home smart plugin… after a week or so 2 of them wasn’t available for homey (red triangle alert icon)… I connected the 2 on my dirigera hub and share them with matter code…works few weeks… today only 1/4 works (through dirigera+matter sharing)…

after the post of Knut_Myhre I will try a direct connection to HP via matter

I’m trying tot connect the Alpstuga co2 sensor to my homey. I get a views_not_an_array message when adding. Anyone know a solution?

Mine is working fine, do not have that message , but pairing was dificult. Only after the 3 time it worked.

Could the issues mentioned above be related to FW version?
I bought three TIMMERFLOTTE just when released, all with FW 1.0.18.
Directly connected to HP2023 via Matter and never had any issues wit these.

I was planning to do a FW update with HA but now I’m having second thoughts about that…
