I’m trying to make a sort of planetary constelation with my Homey as a led-Jupiter, and some other planets. The problem is that I didn’t open my Homey, and I “borked” the paint job. Is there an easy way to open the case?

You’ll have to buy a big number of Homey’s then 
It is reported by some users a drop from 1.75m will do the trick.
But to be serious, from what I’ve read here, using a knife and thin screwdriver carefully right above the LED ring, will split your Homey.
