How does a Bauknecht (or other brand) dryer communicate with its app?

We’ve got a Bauknecht washing dryer with built in wifi. It communicates with an app on my IPhone. For example: door open, program finished, etc.
I’m wondering whether this communication is using MQTT, so I can use the messages in other flows. Does anybody know if that’s so? If not, how does the dryer communicate with its app?

It won’t be MQTT, but something proprietary (and direct). I can’t find much about the protocol used, which isn’t typically a good sign in terms of being able to communicate with it from home automation. If it supports HomeKit, you could look at the HomeKit Controller app to see if it can control the device.
