The VM console says Invalid Endpoint: ManagerUpdates.getOptionAutoUpdate. If I restart the VM, early on in the log output it says sometinhg about not finding the update.
And to make matters worse, I get an error when I try to creater a Diagnostics Report.
I know from looking at the output of ‘ps -ef’ that SHS is running n a Docker container but it would help if there was some info on how to update that manually (and where the container is).
I am using SHS instead of HomeAssistant to avoid the endless hacking and digging I would love to get past this hurdle, it is one of the last before fully switching over.
If you have a direct link that would be helpful, otherwise……
I had already searched very thoroughly for the word Update including at that link. Other than saying how to enable experimental there is Nada about how for SHS in VMware or Virtualbox.
Also, if it is supposed to be manual operation, why is there a clickable button on the web interface to Download and Install? As stated, Auto update can’t be set, it throws an error in the log. So restarting the VM results also in no update.
I also Iooked in the Dutch language section with no result.
thank you for those links. I guess it is all in what words to use for a search, I really did look
But as stated, while I signed up for the beta’s, at the beginning of the start of the VM there is a message stating it can’t find the updates. I’ll try to catch it in a screenshot on Friday.
I really don’t want to explain to my wife how to do docker updates inside a VM.
My point really was that I shouldn’t have to learn how to do this if ther e is a Download/Install button.
I will figure it out, because at some point I will want or need to do an update to a Beta version. In meantime I will revert to Official and cycle the VM when there is a new release in that channel.
@Peter_Kawa I will suggest an update to the knowledge base. Bedankt voor de suggestie
When you enable Developer Mode, this is the message for SHS
In the VM you would have to modify the /etc/systemd/system/70-homey-shs.service file and restart the VM. You will (should) then get the Beta feeds from then on.
Or follow the update instructions in the SHS Linux install if you want just an occasional Beta update. Linux Install
As a footnote, if you login to your SHS with a Local user account, you will see the AutoUpdate option, if you login using the https://My.Homey.app page there is no AutoUpdate option.
