Homey Timesout Zigbee

Hello,

I’ve just installed my Homey Pro using the supplied USB-C cable and adapter, and connected a Sonoff ZBMINI relay.

However, I’m running into an issue: when I try to turn the switch on, I either get no response, a very slow response, or an error saying: “Timeout after 10000ms”.

Additionally, about once every hour I receive a notification that the Homey is unreachable, and shortly after that it becomes reachable again.

For context: I’m using a TP-Link Deco mesh network, and the Homey is placed right next to one of the Deco units.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what could be causing this?

How far is the SONOFF switch located from your Homey?

Might there be an overlap between your Homey Pro’s Zigbee channel and your WiFi home network that would cause interference and hinder communication with the SONOFF switch? Also check this post.

Switch is on the topleft. Deco unit on te bottom and on the right my homey pro.

That’s close enough .

I recommend you check whether your WiFi is not causing interference with Homey’s Zigbee communication. Check my prior post for info.

Do you have any other ZigBee gateways? If they are on the same Zigbee channel as Homey, that can cause interference. You can check and change Homey’s channel here:

“Too close” is also an existing issue, signal can drop if it’s too close.

It’s best to first factory reset a new Homey, as weird as it sounds.

As already said, Zigbee is not plug & play (or when you’re lucky), it needs channel tuning with both 2.4GHz wifi and other nearby zigbee networks.
