Homey Pro 2023 Presence not working?

I am experiencing the similar problems for both my wife and myself after upgrade. Both wife and I are on iOS.

Always allow detection is enabled in settings and in the app. Did anyone find a solution or support comment on this. Could not see a resolution post to the thread other than workarounds.

My wife and I just got new iPhones. My presence works, but now I cannot get Her’s going. Not a lot of settings to fiddle with, but I just can’t get Homey to acknowledge when she is home or away.

I still have this issue on my sons iPhone. I checked all the settings and all things are turned on. Is there a solution to this issue yet? Only his presense does not work.

The version 9 beta software released today contains a fix for this and so does latest stable version.

I’m new to Homey, but presence doesn’t work on my Pixel, and I gave Homey all permissions.

For me, out of the blue the Homey presence detection started working a while ago…

Summary:

  1. Location permission always (during set up Homey does not always ask for location permission)
    a. Select Location in Android phone settings
    b. Select App permissions and find Homey
    c. Select Homey and select Allow all the time

  2. Enable Home / Away
    a. Select More … in the Homey app
    b. Select Account and enable Home/Away detection

  3. If it still does not work, try an old trick in the Homey app:
    a. Shift the location in Settings/System/Location
    b. Or try the same via the web interface.

  4. Do not remove permissions
    a. Select Apps in Android phone settings and search for Homey
    b. Disable Remove permissions if app is unused

  5. Avoid app sleep (I am not sure this is really needed)
    Select Battery in phone settings.
    Then select Background usage limits.
    Then select Never auto sleeping apps.
    Add (+) Homey

I tried everything in the summary and it does not help.

My wife and I have the same phone (Galaxy S10). On mine it works perfectly but my wife’s often dont update to home when she returns home.

Any other suggestions? :slightly_smiling_face:

I am sorry, I cannot really think of anything else.

  1. Repeat some steps in the summary: just make sure you do each step for your wife’s phone, especially 2 and 3.
  2. If it still does not work, remove the app and start again :sweat_smile:.
  3. Check another app on that phone that uses location.
  4. Otherwise write to support and tell them what you’ve done so far.

I am also again having this issue. Had it already a while ago. Worked in between. I also have set up everything as required. Propably now a new iOS update and no locatio ln service. I am on iphone 13, does not work, my wife on iphone 16. does worky. Contacted support. No answer yet.

I also reported it to support but have not heard back yet.

I was hoping to get around it using a flow that could update the presence if tado or hue registered the phone as coming home. But neither of them has the relavant follow card.

Anyone know a workaround?

After a while of using Tado presence to replace the presence detection in Homey I can now say that this too has its problems.

Anyone found a fix or workaround yet?
