good evening, can someone tell me how to set up port forwarding on homey pro 2023 to be able to access when I’m not under my wifi network on my fritz! box 7690, I’ve been trying for two days but it doesn’t work for me
Why do you want to setup port forwarding?
It is not needed for accessing Homey from outside your home network.
And if you do setup port forwarding without enough knowledge, this can cause serious security issues…l
thanks for answering me, sorry I don’t understand from inside my wifi network I can easily access the homey pro 2023 and also the homey pro 2019 and the homey brydge and I see all the peripherals that are managed that are on the two homey pros but when I’m out of the house the only one I can see is homey bridge where I don’t have any peripherals without having configured anything on my router’s firewall I had read that to access you have to do port forwarding on the homey pro what am I doing wrong I agree that opening the firewall is dangerous but how can I see my peripherals when I’m out of the house
It should work automatically through Athom’s cloud servers, you don’t need port forwarding for this.
If it doesn’t work, you need to submit a support request: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/360015784034-Submitting-a-support-request
Well, that might convince you that you don’t need portwarding and that you have to look for another solution for your Homey app on your iPhone .
Are you connecting to the right Homey?
yes, I agree, the problem occurs on both the Homey app on iPhone and on the iPad Pro WiFi Cellular. now I also tried from mac studio with the homey app and it doesn’t work there either, via the web app works
When I disconnect the WiFi I no longer see the two Homey Pros, the bridge works, they are all on my Homey account. I also tried to reset the Homey Pro but nothing changed.
For better clarification you can use some interpunction in your text. And add a copy of your screen to clarify your problem. Because it is not clear what means “the bridge works”.
Glad this string came up. I had initiated port forwarding based on information within my iOS Homey app. See pic example. Recently my firewall has been capturing a few attempts to access my Homey port. See pic 2. Closed it tonight.
Reviewed IP on a number of 3rd party websites and it was flagged as questionable reputations.
Will try external access tomorrow when away from home.
Thanks
Dan
Disabling wifi on your phone should be enough as well.
You will connect by mobile network then and therefor by internet.
Thank you, I did that last night after responding . It worked as thread noted.
I’m still wondering why Athom recommends the port fwd option, that is why I originally set it up. Probably because there are some instances where required.
Because they want to give the impression that Homey can work without Athom’s cloud servers.
sorry to bother you but maybe I misunderstood you were able to use homey pro even remotely via cell network using ios or mac because I have this problem.
I thought I had to do port forwarding but they tell me it’s not necessary and I apologize if I bothered you.
best regards bombelli alberto
I apologize for not having responded until now but I was away from home and I did not have the opportunity to send you the images to give you some more information.
I am attaching images of the various connections both on the cellular network and the wifi network as you can see in the images within my network everything works, on the cellular network the peripherals that are on the homey bridge work.
the homey web app works perfectly with everything on the ipad pro it is perfect but on the iphone the graphic interface does not align with the size of the screen, too bad because I would have solved my problem of controlling my devices.
I have not fixed anything yet for now I have configured some devices I have many others to add but I would like to fix this problem first.
I have not yet activated the flows and other things because there is a lot of work to do for this I would like to be sure of being able to use all the devices even remotely before embarking on doing all this.
as per previous conversation I thought that I had to necessarily activate the port forwarding but rightly it is a security problem.
I see what is going on, no connection from Homey App via 5G to your Homey Pro. However connection from Homey App via 5G to your Homey Bridge is working.
I have no clue. Better contact Homey as suggested above.
ok thank you I will try to contact support
