Hi,
I’m still very happy with my Homey Pro 2019. However, IKEA is now releasing new bulbs and accessories that use Matter. Since the Homey Pro 2019 does not support Thread/Matter, I can’t connect these new products directly.
Would it be possible to use an IKEA DIRIGERA Hub alongside my Homey Pro 2019 and connect them together? My goal would be to keep the Homey Pro 2019 as the main hub, with the DIRIGERA Hub acting as a secondary hub (slave) only for IKEA devices.
AFAIK the Dirigera hub only supports Matter for sharing devices with other platforms.
That’s strange. So the IKEA hub doesn’t even support IKEA’s new Matter devices?
You said the Dirigera hub only supports Matter to share with other platforms. That would be strange since that would mean that it can’t connect to IKEA’s new Matter devices.
I have no idea what you’re trying to say, but I’ll explain what I meant: if you want to use Matter devices managed by the Dirigera with Homey (“other platform”), it can only do so over Matter.
However, I might be wrong since there’s still the Dirigera app that uses a reverse-engineered protocol to talk to it. I don’t know if it can be used to control Matter devices managed by the Dirigera, though.
