Homey Pro (2019): Moes IR/RF Hub, Vevor Weather Station and Tuya/SmartLife Integration

Hi Homies!

I have a few questions about getting Tuya/SmartLife devices to work with my Homey Pro (2019). Hopefully someone can help!

Moes UFO-R2-RF Wi-Fi RF IR-controller and remote controls:

I’m expecting a Moes UFO R2 RF and hope to use it with Homey. I previously tried a BroadLink RM4 Pro, but couldn’t get it working with Homey, either through BroadLink’s own app or through the BroadLink app for Homey. I contacted the manufacturer, who also told me it only works within their own app ecosystem. I’ve seen another Homey app in development, but it isn’t available to download yet.

My plan is to add the Moes to Tuya and then control it through Homey. Has anyone actually managed this, including using learned IR and RF commands in Homey flows?

If this won’t work, which remote control hub would you recommend for reliable use with Homey Pro (2019)? Preferably something that integrates directly with Homey, without complicated workarounds.

Vevor WiFi 7-in-1 weather station YT60307:

I’ve also ordered a Vevor WiFi weather station that works with Tuya. Information online makes it sound as though anything connected to Tuya can be integrated into Homey, but after looking into it more closely, I’m starting to doubt that.

I want to use its rain, wind speed and sunlight readings to control my awning. For example, retract it when it starts raining or the wind gets too strong, and extend it when the sun is shining and conditions allow.

Does anyone have experience with this? Can Homey actually access these readings through Tuya and use them in flows?

Tuya power strips:

I have two power strips set up in the Tuya app. Although power strips appear among the supported device types in the Tuya app for Homey, I haven’t managed to get mine working. Am I missing something?

Automatic litter box:

Less essential, but it would be nice to integrate my automatic litter box too. It also works with Tuya, and I’d like to have all these devices together in Homey.

Ideally, I’d also like to monitor individual cats’ visits using a smart camera that can distinguish them by their fur patterns. That could be useful if one of them becomes ill. Has anyone set up anything like this?

Can anyone help solve any of these world problems? :wink: Experiences with these devices, tips about Tuya integration or suggestions for a different remote control hub would all be welcome.

IR can be added using Tap-to-Run scenes in the Tuya mobile app, those can be triggered from Flows. I have some IR blasters too. I don’t know about RF.

Which part isn’t working? You should be able to add them as Plug device
