Homey doesn't start

I have a Homey Pro Early 2019. I did a restart because an app didnt work. Somehow it didnt look like it did restart. So I unplugged it. There’s ring after pluggin in again and then rind suddenly disappears. But I cant connect via App anymore. I also tried another USB cable.
Is my Homey dead?
Homey seems to be connected to my router and I can access the webpage of my homey router ip (where you see app DL links)

So you can access the local IP of Homey but the mobile app isn’t working? Try to open the web app ( my.homey.app) which works more stable than the mobile app (for me at least)

Same. No connection. After the first reboots I was able to access the mobile app. But only very few devices were found and my apps were empty. Now I can’t access the frontend (mobile and web) no matter how often I restart or change cables

Some general things to try:

  • Restart your router and WiFi access points;
  • Try another power adapter for powering Homey.

Thank you. Did both already. All three actually. Router, APs and Homey

Try to start the recovery mode:

  • Plug Homey in
  • After 1 minute, turn it upside down
  • After 1 minute open de mobile app, tap on your Homey name @ top-left, and tap “Add new Homey”
    With a bit of luck it shows your Homey and starts the recovery menu.
  • Connect it to wifi and navigate to “Full software download”.
    This will install the firmware from scratch and probably fix the issues.

Contact support in the meantime, they have tools to flash the firmware directly (w/o needing wifi).

Thank you for all the hints. It came back on its own during the night. Don’t know why. The Apps and flows can only be backuped using a subscription, right?

In case I wanna buy a newer model. Can you simply move flows/devices/apps to a new homey?

Glad it woke up again.

True for (Pro) 2016-2019 models.
The Pro 2023/mini can also be backed op per USB connection to a PC/Laptop/etc., but this needs manual intervention, and Homey will be offline.
It can be a life saver regarding firmware upgrades, because it’ll create a 1:1 copy of your Homey, which makes it possible to downgrade firmware;
This isn’t possible with the backup subscription.

Yes, by restoring a cloud backup from Homey 2016-2019.
This should work flawless, but issues have bern reported with zigbee & z-wave devices.
I guess “patience” is a factor > Those kind of mesh networks need to build themselves from scratch and settle. This can take up to several hours.
