I have an old zooz zen21 switch. The zooz app dos not recognize it so the homeypro added it as a basic switch. I can control the light via homeypro app but when i physically press the button the status does not update in the homeypro. How can I get this fixed? It was working a few days ago and I do not want to go the route of constantly excluded and then re-included it
I don’t use Zooz devices, so I don’t know much about them. What I’ve learned so far is that generic or basic (Z-Wave/Zigbee) drivers don’t support all functionality and often don’t fully (and always) respond to manual/physical button changes, causing the status in the app to become out of sync. I would recommend an up-to-date device.
You could check developer, for the current status.
It would be more expensive to replace my numerous devices in one shot and until i do so, i’ll need to figure something out
Yes, Docyak, I completely understand your point. I’m keeping the possibility open that it will still malfunction; at least that’s been my experience so far.
The problem is also that advanced functionality is not supported by generic devices, so enabling polling or association is not an option I suppose. (Some Zooz devices seem to have settings to report status or send updates to the hub. Enabling this might improve status accuracy, or it might be possible to receive it from a Flow that can process the status correctly.)
Did you allready ask the developer of the Zooz App if there are possibilities to add this device? Perhaps there’s a solution…
