Fully kiosk

I’ve just set up advanced charging on my Tab11 Plus using a smart plug via Tasker and a webhook to inform Homey of the battery level. However, after installing Fully with remote access enabled, I noticed that it also reports the battery level, which makes my Tasker setup redundant. Do you also use the battery level provided by Fully, and does it work reliably?

Hi!

I have it setup since a couple of months in this way using the battery reported from Fully. I have a Galaxy Tab 9+ and in an advanced flow use the battery reported from the Fully device to turn on the smart plug when reported battery drops below 20% and turn off the plug when the battery gets above 80%. It’s been working reliably since then.

Just a tip. Your samsung tablet has a built-in function for this purpose, thats stops charging at a point of your choice (80% recommended) and runs the device directly on external power. This option is way better for both safety and your battery. It’s like using a device without a battery at all. Only when you disconnect the device it starts using the battey.

Your method is good for older tablets or phones that don’t have this function. But it still gives your battery many cycles of charging and discharging, and that will damage the battery over time.

Thanks for the tip @Torbjorn_Melbye. I actually used that built-in option for a while set to 80%. In my case it didn’t seem to use electricity from the connected USB-C-cable (always connected). Since it still used battery, eventhough wired, whenever the battery percentage dropped just a couple of percent it started charging again up to 80%, resulting in several charging cycles per day. But I think I will have a second try how that works out.

Hi!

I know its a long time ago you replied on this topic, But I just recently am using my Samsung Tablet with Fully Kiosk and also facing some issues that my tablet is turning on by itself (because of the camera) Can you show me your settings in Fully Kiosk Browser (Maybe via PB?)

Also interested @Peter_Kawa & @Niclas on your Fully config and how you enumerate battery via homey? Assume maybe MQTT??

I am currently using HA (with Fully integration) and publishing the battery from HA back to Homey then have an Advanced flow set for 80/20 to stop and start direct connected Shelly. I am trying to remove reliance on HA where I can, but it works fine.

In other news, I still get maybe a Fully Single App (just displaying Homey Dashboard) hang once a month with blank screen. Still investigating.

Hi @PJ-AU

I’m using the Homey App Dashboard Controller.

An alternative option would be to use Tasker and webhooks.

Thanks @Niclas, woohoo I didn’t realize this also worked with Fully Single App as well!
