After last Homey Update some days back, started to have issues with Advanced flow (view only, working mostly OK (few non-triggering seems to happen). Have restarted several times, zero change…
E.g. this time all “When” cards (of different aps) unavailable, when refreshing something else getting gray, while when cards recovered…
I’m “experiencing” this phenomenon for months now, on both Pro 2019 and Pro 2026, and even with a local connection with the web app.
I’ve reported it @ Athom’s Slack channel back then. It seemed to be caused by DNS settings but it apparently isn’t.
Rebooting and PtP is not solving anything.
It’s unrelated to firmware updates as well.
As with some other Homey issues: There’s no other network connected device in here with any issue. Only Homey seems to suffer from whatever it is, if it’s 7 years old, or if it is 2 months old
But because I’ve a dual vLAN setup, and filter with AdGuard with dual DNS rewrite, I didn’t dare to say it’s a 100% issue @ Athom’s side.
Now I know for sure it’s not me, and you know it’s not touching only you.
(Oh, btw, please refrain from using “latest update” as firmware version, because v12.12.0 was released half a day ago. Which makes your version not the latest, but the previous update)
Just a thought: could it be that a specific app is causing this behavior and thus impacts other apps / Homey’s functionality to display flowcards and app icons? Perhaps there is a commonality in the apps you all are using. Disabling all apps and then enabling them one at a time to see whether it’s flow cards are available would then be an approach to consider. I know it’s a far stretch, but just in case.
I get your point, @SunBeech , but even the built-in logic variable tags are greyed out, which is not app related.
But it’s a plan to run some tests by disabling apps (and try to remember which “new” app I installed at the time it all started).
No, differently: it’s not always occurring. Only I’m a bit to chaotic to pinpoint a cause.
The only thing what seemed to be of influence were dns settings.
Yesterday I created a straightforward separate vLAN, with only Homey and my phone allowed.
But the issue wasn’t gone.
Now I found something interesting while making some trials by connecting to my.homey.app (when errors all around on every update with WIN11 / Edge):
1st from mobile (Android, Edge, forced web-connection): All OK(but small obviously )
2nd same WIN11 machine (where Edge errors exists), but with Google Crome: All OK
3rd VM Linux / Firefox (from remote location as well): All OK
All OK = No errors , Flows good, adding any device & flow card OK.
Also I noticed that loading times much faster especially on advanced flows… Also bigger Insight-sheet updates done with zero complains (on WIN11 / Edge I get often 10000ms loading errors but has not been major issue).
I hope sharing above helps you as well (as I can survive with this for now )
Tried that already yesterday (on WIN 11 & Edge) - no improvement…
Now also tested WIN11 + Google Crome (the one which was working earlier till did not…):
Unfortunately not. I’ve emptied cache and complete browser history many times, I’v tried all kinds of new unused browsers (on that device), including private tabs.
I mainly use linux + android, with Firefox, Chrome, DuckDuckGo. But I’m testing with Ecosia, Vivaldi, Chromium beta, and I even tried Edge
I dare to say it’s not browser related, and it all started around november last year.
The gear I use didn’t change, but my Homey did.
(next to 2 2019’s since 2020, I use a 2026 since last mid December)
Connection? It doesn’t matter if I use the local connection or my.homey.app. I can conclude there’s something off with the web app itself.
@Eko_taas can you share which apps we’ve installed in common?
And now the “fun”: Tonight there was no flow edit problem at all
Sorry, forgot… you picture was so small could not…
Here installed list (with disabled info) - many of enabled ones in very light use due some legacy (newbee, mostly distabled) flows, some added for flow improvement testing (which I cannot now )…
I have tried some changes on my Fritzbox, but the result wasn´t that burner. Now it seems, with Firefox and the local account, it´s better, but not really good.
looks very familiar (unfortunately)
Waiting 30 - 60s often allows you to proceed with the next step.
It’s horribly awful and Athom unworthy.
(overhere this crap occurs since last november as well, reported at Slack).
It seemed to be DNS related, but no matter what I set, sometimes it works fine, often it’s performing like AutoCad on an (terribly slow) 80’s 386 PC.
Using the local or the cloud connection (my.homey.app) doesn’t differ.
The “waiting game” also occurs when editing standard flows.
Edge, Google Crome, DuckDuckGo (Firefox only at VMs)
keeping browser on, closed whole browser and restart, closed tab and only then browser, kept insights on same browser etc.
At least for me looks that Advanced Flow coming OK (longer than 6h) when:
tested with my.homey.app only
used dedicated browser with only one tab (using for advanced flows only), while other tabs on separate browser (seems like same machine OK)
All browsers seems OK for Advanced flow when single-tab…
Closing advanced flow tab when not using it (several hours has been OK, >6h not) and only then closing browser.
I hope this lasts for me and hopefully helping others to get rid of their issues as well…
“…few non-triggering seems to happen…” not any more present, assuming something non-related (5+ restarts due advanced flow, new homey vesions etc. in between…
