Firmware 12.8.0 makes Homey crashing twice a day

Heyhow, am I alone with this?

Since Firmware Update 12.8.0, it crashes every few hours. I haven’t changed anything in a while, and I can’t figure out the reason (because Homey doesn’t provide log files that go that deep – which is really annoying when trying to track down bugs. :cry:)

Memory 2,6 Gig and RAM 550 Mbyte should work fine, CPU Usage uneventful…. mh…

If you have an offline USB backup you can revert to previous firmware;
or
You can possibly fix this update by performing the “software update” by using the USB Tool;
this will install v12.8.0 from scratch:

Another thought: what happens if you disable all apps on your Homey? Does that stop the intermittent freezing? If so, you could then start enabling them one at a time to identify the app that is / its devices that are causing the issue.

Thanx sooo muchg @Peter_Kawa and @SunBeech

My approach is: Am I alone with this? If not, then this could become really time-consuming :cry: Gonna check that USB solution—maybe that’s the fastest way. Turning apps on and off one by one is tough with 60 apps…

The really annoying part is not having a proper debugging or logging option that could point you in the right direction within minutes.

I’m gonna take a look at https://homey.app/de-de/app/com.sysInternals/sysInternals/
After a day, you can usually spot which app goes crazy before crash—but the issue started right after the firmware update…

Anyone else noticed any strange behavior?

I am also on v12.8.0 and am running 35 apps on a HP23, but don’t have the same experience as you have. I don’t recall seeing other reports on freezing Homeys here or on Homey’s Slack channel.

You might also want to reach out to Support | Homey for assistance and to report the issue.
