[FeatureRequest] Add Matter Sensors to Homekit integration

Hey folks,

With the Matter integration, i’ve gone down the path of integrating my Ikea Dirigera system (which comprises mostly of parasoll window sensors and a few light bulbs here and there).

What I’d love to do is being able to expose these window sensors to Homekit via the integration. While the light bulbs are exposed just fine, the sensors are just not present at all.

Given how well the Dirigera → Homey integration works via matter, I’m assuming the issue relies on the device class (Sensor) not being supported in the Homekit integration for Matter devices.

As a workaround, I’m sure I can expose the sensors from Dirigera straight into Homekit via their direct integration, but it defeats the purpose of having Homey being the central brain for everything.

Which HomeKit integration are you talking about?

The Athom-provided integration is quite limited, my app HomeKitty supports much more devices and edge-cases, and I typically respond much quicker in case of problems :wink:

Hey Robert,

I hear you, but I’m looking for the enhancement built-in. Your plugin exposes them, but it also exposes it as a switch, which isn’t what I’m looking for.

Like I said, I’m much quicker to respond in case of problems, like this. Or you can wait a few months and hope that Athom will improve their HomeKit implementation (which was last updated in April 2023…) :man_shrugging:t3:
