Eve Power plug (Matter over Thread)

Looking for any help on this…

It appears that the Eve power plug can only be set up using an Apple device (wish I had known this before purchase)… I do not own any Apple devices.

How can I find/create the Matter QR code/11 digit Matter code?

I tried to add the device to Homey Pro but it still requires the 11 digit Matter code.

The only pairing code provided is an 8 digit code.

Would very much appreciate any assistance.

Are you sure the one you bought is Matter/Thread ? The original only supported HomeKit but that is no longer the case. If the one you have supports Matter over Thread then it will work with Homey, Home Assistant, Google, Alexa, Apple Home…etc and you can use either iOS or Android to add it. Sounds to me like the one you have is a HomeKit only version.

On the box it states “Built on Thread”… but I’m starting to think that even though it was advertised as Matter over Thread, they may have sent the wrong one.

I will investigate further and try to return/swap it.

Devices can be Thread only without supporting Matter. Before supporting Matter Eve updated many of their BT devices to Thread and those devices were HomeKit only. The box would need to say ‘Matter over Thread’ for it to support both.

Hello,

I don’t know where you live, but in the Netherlands i have several Eve Power plugs (Eve Energy | evehome.com) and the work fine.

Connected with Matter and Thread…

That’s great they work fine for you but that does not help him with his problem. If he bought or was shipped the wrong version that may be his problem and that is what I am trying to help him with. From the sound of it I believe he has the non Matter version which is why its not working and if that is the case hopefully he can get it swapped.
