Eve Energy Smart Plug, will consumption be supported in future?

This isn’t something we are working on. It’s an update on the Eve side of things, they build the firmware for the Eve devices. As soon as the Eve plug has the latest firmware it will show the power measurements in Homey.

My Eve Energy have the firmware version 3.5.0, so it appears to be the latest firmware. Nevertheless, they don’t show any energy data.

Nope, The current version is 3.2.1

BDW: I connected my Eve motion to the EveHome app in parallel with Homey and received the OTA updates.

@ChrisG
But you have already realized that Eve apparently does not list the current versions on its website, because according to Adam Riese, 3.5.0 is definitely higher than 3.2.1.

BTW: According to other websites, version 3.5.0 is exactly the version that provides the energy measurement function via the Matter standard…

I can confirm that the most up-to-date firmware for Eve Smart Plug is 3.5.0 and that, after the update, by re-pairing the smart plug in Homey, the power meter function is enabled also in Homey App.

The only problem I had is that to update the Eve Smart Plug firmware from 3.2.1 to 3.5.0 I had to borrow an Apple HomePod from a friend because it wasn’t possible with Homey.
@ChrisG were you able to update Eve Smart Plug using only Homey and without going through a HomePod or Google Nest Hub?

Install the EveHome app on a tablet (iPadOS or Android), then you can add a new device as normal.

If the EveHome app now asks for a QR code, do NOT use the device’s code but go to the Homey app > (selected) Device > Settings > Advanced Settings > Share Matter Device where you will now receive your own QR code.

If you use this, your device is connected to the Homey app AND the EveHome app at the same time.

If the EveHome app now notices that an OTA update is available, it will install it.

PS1: In theory, this should also work with other Matter devices, but I haven’t been able to test it yet because I’m currently having problems connecting my Wiz lamp to Homey.

PS2: I use an iPad, but it should also work on Android.

No. I have several Apple TVs at home and the Eve Energy is also integrated into the Apple Home. They will probably have received the latest updates via this.

And THANK YOU for pointing out that I need to reintegrate them into Homey. I’ll try that right away and see if the energy readings are displayed afterwards.

EDIT: it works great!

Hey,

I also have several eve energy plugs and woikd like to update them.

Is there any possibility to do this without using Apple devices?

I have tried to install the eve app for android but when it starts it asks me to chose an plattform and only offers Google Home (that i acutally don’t use)…

Afaik the firmware updates for eve are only possible on apple ang Google platforms.

Pls contact Eve to request updates using Homey
