Error Panasonic Comfort cloud app

I have the same error too. Have pulled the plug, waited 15 mins, have reinstalled the app, restarted the app, restarted homey, used a different Panasonic account. No luck.

Cannot add my air conditioner to the app. It says no new devices found. I provided login credentials as per instructions. Device is also added to original Panasonic app and working fine there.

I have the same problem. No new devices found. Is there a solution to this problem?

No new devices found is as far as I get as well. hope a solution can be found soon…

This app has not been working since late 2022. Please make this app work again! @Doekse @Emile
As mentioned above: ā€˜No device found.’ I am using one of the best-selling heat pumps in Norway. This problem affects many users in Scandinavia! Norway is one of your best selling contryes!

One of the reasons that made me buy the Homey Pro was that Panasonic Comfort Cloud was available with Homey Pro and not with Homey cloud which I used before.
Now I sit here with my Homey Pro and the Panasonic Comfort Cloud app doesn’t work =(

The Panasonic Comfort Cloud App for Homey was developed by a community developer, not by us, so we’re unable to provide direct support in this case. However, we are always exploring opportunities to bring more brands like Panasonic to the platform, though we haven’t had contact with them yet.

Then I really recommend that Athom take the needed steps to include Panasonic heaters in your platform.
I was going from another smart home system that had many of my smart home systems under their umbrella. One by one, they lost support for my vital products/systems.
Then I switched to Homey.

Unfortunately, the same happens here.
There are some apps that I use, where the developer suddenly stops their support for their apps and make the app useless.
Please keep an eye on this problem, if possible.
Thanks!

Cheers from Norway,
Olex

Hi @Doekse , thanks for the reply. Since Homey has been acquired by LG, I’ve kind of lost faith that this app will be fixed. I know this is a community app, but can’t you at Homey push the creator to update the app? If not, Homey will probably have a graveyard of apps in a few years. At least give users the possibility to give direct feedback to the creator through the app store. Not all of us know about this forum.

The last update to this app was over seven months ago, well before we became part of the LG Electronics family. It seems that our acquisition did not influence the developer’s decision to stop working on the project.

While we can reach out to the community developer, we don’t have the ability to force anyone to update their app, especially when it’s a project they worked on in their spare time.

On the Homey platform, developers have the option to share their contact information, but in this case, the developer chose not to. Again, we respect their decision and cannot compel them to provide contact details.

We are actively working to bring more brands onto the Homey platform. In some cases, we’ve seen community-developed apps transition into official ones, with collaboration between the community and the brands they know and love. However, we cannot force a brand, such as Panasonic, to join the platform—those decisions ultimately rest with the brands themselves. Rest assured, we will continue to do our best to encourage their participation.

@Doekse
Can you please add the Panasonic airco devices to your IR control app?
Most airco brands are last year added natively to Homey’s IR devices except Panasonic.

Using IR could for some be a temporarily solution to control there airco’s until someone pickups the development of a new app.

Good suggestion! I’ll see if we have access to the IR database from Panasonic and see if we can actually make that work.

What is the status regarding Panasonic Comfort Cloud App? Where in the backlog is this prioritized?

Status = as is, dev chose to be unreachable?

My own app, PCC-Alt has been used by several for a considerable time - the major downside is that it is not available in the Homey app store, and must be installed from Github via the Homey SDK (as opposed to the original app, PCC-Alt is open source).

Any discussion on the alternative app should go to the link above - I don’t monitor this topic.

Note that as of today, incidentally, there’s an authentication issue. The upstream package maintainer has been notified.

Hi Doekse - Is there any way you can update the description in the Homey App Store to say that this app is currently not working, or better still, hide it altogether?

I’ll check if we can take the app offline or add a warning, as it’s no longer functioning.

On a brighter note, I’ve managed to connect with the team at Panasonic through a colleague at LG. I’ll do my best to work some magic and persuade them to develop an official solution

That’s would be excellent! They are welcome to fork my repo and take over my app .

(Incidentally, the authentication issue has now been fixed by an upstream package - these outages and the lack of commitment and documentation from Panasonic is a big reason why I don’t want to maintain an ā€œofficialā€ app on their behalf.)
