Date & Time when trigger cards don't have a Date card option

Why does the DATE & Time when trigger cards not have a Date card?
What if you want something to start on a specific day of a specific month. It is similar for the Alarms, there is no date option. For example you needed to get up extra early for a holiday to get to the airport, but didn’t want to leave an alarm going off at 3am while you were away. If like me you often forget to turn alarms for special events off before leaving home, being able to set alarms or reminders on specific dates only, or once every 8 weeks, is really helpful.

Also, why aren’t Alarms settings accessible in the web interface, but only from the mobile App?

Or is it just me that thinks date functionality should be something available natively?

There is an AND (condition) card for date. Maybe you can use that?

There is also a trigger

It should be visible on your Homey as well. Maybe it’s a bug in the web app, have you checked the mobile app?

But that requires you triggering a Flow every day at a specified time to check if it’s a specific date. Why can’t there be a Date When card that you can start a Flow only on a specific Day number of a Specific Month. Or for one time actions, also a year. Currently you only have the option of time of day, or time of day on specified days of the week M-S.

That is not true for Alarms though, you can only specify to repeat every certain day(s) of the week, not specify a specific date for an Alarm.
I have tried clearing browser cache and re-loading the web page, but Alarms settings are not available in the web interface, only accessible in the mobile app.

I have found a work around for the triggering Flows only on a specified date, when I eventually found the Action Scheduler app in Homey. I just need to remember my cron formatting  But it’s another app closer to my Homey Pro imploding

I have managed to get hold of a Raspberry Pi CM4 with 8GB RAM and 16GB storage… I just need to find the time and courage to perform brain :brain: surgery on my Homey Pro 2026 ha ha (that should solve a lot of my frequent issues, and devices misbehaving or going AWOL).

(Raspberry Pi Compute Modules seem to be rare as rocking horse :poop: lately, not easy to find the spec you want.)

In my case, there is such a trigger (“De datum wordt …” in Dutch). I use Homey Pro 2019 firmware v12.7.1.

My first screenshot shows the options available when running HP 2026 on firmware 13.3.0… so that shows some real inconsistencies between different hardware & software versions

They removed that trigger with Homey Pro 2023 and later cause it always started at 0:00 of that day/start of that month, you have no option to choose a time you want it to trigger.
So you have to use a time for trigger, and then you can check what day it is anyway if you wanted anything else then have it trigger on 0:00 (delay it can happen that homey will restart, stopping the delay).

I understand that, though wasn’t previously aware of it. But rather than remove it, could they have not added a time to it? (Then it would only trigger on the date and at the time you wanted, rather than trigger every day to check if it’s the day you want.)

This doesn’t explain why the Alarms don’t have a date (or date from - to) option, so you can have alarms set for specific dates, like special events.
Or why you can’t access the Alarms from the web interface, only from the mobile app.
I’m hoping someone either knows a good reason for this, or maybe it’s funtionality that can be added?

Athom once mentioned that only 20% of all Homey users use the web app. Most users only use the mobile app so the web app doesn’t have their priority

I do wonder if that’s users, or usage… I have to presume that a majority of users only really use the web interface for configuration, and mostly use the mobile/tablet app for day to day usage… especially as Dashboards aren’t available in the web interface.

I know I would use the web interface more on more devices if the dashboards were available. Kind of a chicken n egg situation… would more users make more use of the web interface if functionality like dashboards was available, making them easier to use on more devices?

That was about users, the web app is only used by 20% of all Homey users.
