Date & Time card for starting a flow 45 minutes before sunset stopped working

I’ve had a flow working for over a year that turns our main living area lights on 45 minutes before sunset. It’s been totally consistent and reliable. For some reason in the last week it has stopped working. Another card in the same flow that turns those same lights OFF at 12:30am is still working properly, but the one that I assume is pulling sunset time data from somewhere every day is no longer firing. Any ideas on where to start debugging would be appreciated.

That sounds strange.. i tested with my homey 2023 and homey 2019, and my 2023 doesnt seem to get the sunrise/sunset correctly, time is way off, and year is 2022.. my 2019 shows the times correctly. But since it worked befor for you, something must have change this in some recent update i would asume. Unless your time is correct, and its just my 2023 acting up.

That’s because of the 2016-2019 models showing real values in these lists, and Pro 2023/Mini only show example values.

So, for the Pro 2023/mini the real values are in there, only you’ll need to click a few times to have them revealed:
To discover the actual value, add a tag to a timeline notification card and test run that card. Hovering the tag should reveal it’s value. Insane but true Odd ways of improving newer Homeys.

I can recommend the Sun Events app.
The onboard Sun triggers seem flaky here and there.

But please do report your findings to support also: homey.app/support

That is such an insane UX choice: to show examples in a pop up of an element rather than actual values. Where else in the world would this be the right choice? If the user was entering data and needed guidance.

Homey team need to allow us a dummy account we can tag when we want to love/hate a design feature. These forums are filled with high impact ideas if they were mining them.

Because it is just for documentation purposes!

Still trying to debug this. It seems flaky at best, which is odd since it’s worked reliably for quite a while. It’s currently working again. I changed the “before sunset” time to less than an hour and it started working again. Then yesterday I changed it to 65 minutes, and it still worked yesterday.

I may check out the Sun Events app just to try and get some consistency.

I am not the only one, I see. That’s good to know!~

My 90 minutes before sunset trigger stopped working, but all other sunset timers are still functioning, so I assumed there’s a time restriction. Let’s try 60 minutes now, based on the experience of Jeffery Andre. If there’s anyone who knows how to solve the problem, I’d be very grateful!

Yeah, it started working again for a week or two, then back to flakey. I haven’t found any reason behind the issue. No changes to the system, one day it works, the next it doesn’t.
I’ve switched to using the Sun Events app, which so far seems stable.
