just sharing what i realized, maybe some can use it for their own projects…
Idea: Tablet in Camper which display mainly Time, but also weather and some important Data like Level of Gas bottles, water tank and Batterie. As well as temperature.
Currently there are not really full integrated systems for campers and if, they are very expensive.
So i tried to use my homey at home to collect data from the different data sources and then to use the app AOD Xpath in the camper to display the values.
the result looks like
And the display itself shows the following
Where B = Batterylevel, W = Waterlevel, G = Gas Bottle 1+2, Temp + Kühli are the temperatures in Camper and Fridge.
How did i realize this?
I tried to buy equipment in the camper which is able to upload data to any kind of cloud.
Some sensors like thermometers of govee are supported directly by homey, for all others the process is as follow:
- Homey is reading the portal via Http get requests depending on the API of the provider and then gathering the data out of the result (typically json).
- Homey is saving the results in variables
- Homey is uploading the results into a webpage (self-hosted) just as plain text divided in
- on the tablet the AOD Xpath app is kind of a lockscreen app and able to read webpages, receive the content of different into variables and then to design the text with these variables
