Connecting Aqara doorbell to Homey

I get an error

Please can you explain a bit more about how to do this?

So far I have:

  1. added device via Aqara
  2. added to Apple HomeKit
  3. Clicked "new device’ in Homey
  4. Selected HomeKit Controller
  5. HomeKit IP
  6. Connect
  7. New Devices Found: HomeKitty ACEB
  8. “Enter HomeKit PIN” -

Problem: I enter the 8 digits on the HomeKit sticker (printed above the QR code), but I get an error:
“M4: Error 2 => Incorrect PIN”

I’ve tried with Aqara G4 doorbell and FP2 Presence Sensor. Both fail.

It should be removed from apple homekit
As your FP2 and doorbell have Apple as their controller it cannot be connected to my app and will not show.

Homekitty is another device

Hi Martin, honestly it works great! Thank you for creating it! Was wondering if there is a possibility for looking at the camera footage of the doorbell through the homey app (I am very new to homey and cameras seem like a tricky thing to work with when ath hasn’t made an app for it!)

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it’s still not working.

What I did:

  1. Factory reset FP2 sensor
  2. Added to Aqara app (I am forced to add to HomeKit during this installation process)
  3. Removed FP2 from HomeKit
  4. Followed your instructions

However, when I enter the 8-digit code and press OK, I immediately get this error message: “onPair no service found for device”

Here’s some screenshots:

I have Full Thread Devices and Eero 6+ mesh routers close to the FP2 sensor. I tried with 2.4Ghz only mode, and normal dual-band mode.

Also tried via iPhone, iPad Pro, and the web app. Always the same error.

I have not tried connecting the doorbell because I want to ensure it works reliably in HomeKit.

PS All the different HomeKit workaround apps and experiments are confusing for a newbie!

Sometimes the FP2 needs some time to get its Homekit service up and running again. Wait a while and try again. Sometimes a powercycle on the FP2 helps (also please wait some time to retry)

Great to hear that. Homey only supports stills. No video support.

OK, 24 hours later, I moved the FP2 right next to the Homey, and it worked.

It would have also worked if they weren’t next to each other :man_shrugging:t3:

I understand that honey only supports stills, but would I still be able to see video in HomeKit after either the experiment or, say, homekitty adds the device to HomeKit? Or would it be only stills even in HomeKit since it was going through Homey to HomeKit?

@Martin_Verbeek I know you are busy, and you have already helped me so much - but I would love to know the answer to this:

I do not know if the answer to that. I do not have any Apple at my home. But my guess is that you would lose it. Homey has no video so how could homekitty put it out again? I cannot make it available as a homey capability either. With a matter device it probably would work, but with a IP device probably not

Ahh, ok. That’s a shame about Homey and video - for the price they charge that seems a little crazy, but I will get over it I suppose lol! I may get a cheap matter camera just to see if that route will work with the Homey/Homekit combo

I successfully added the Aqara G4 through homekit via the Repeater. I cannot find a flow that actives when the doorbell is used tho. Anyone figured it out?

Tell me More about ”reaper”
