I just bought 3 Aqara door sensors thinking that I could use them without an Aqara hub. Homey does connect to them but without receiving any info. If I try to connect them to the Aqara app, it tells me that I can’t until I add one of their hubs. I’d prefer to not add another hardware, which is one of the main reasons why I chose homey. Is there any workaround?
Last week I bought the newest Sonoff door sensors (DWGen2) but they aren’t supported yet by Homey. I actually thought some zigbee door and windows sensors would be the easiest thing to setup in a smart home…
Note that when you connect it to Homey, you cannot use the Aqaramobile app. The Aqara mobile app is meant to be used to connect to an Aqara hub (aka the Official method).
To connect to Homey, you need to add it from within the Homey mobile app and install the AqaraHomey app (from within the Homey mobile app)
Nevertheless, the sensor doesn’t send any update to homey when the door is open. I had a similar issue when I connected a sonoff Door sensor as a general zigbee device, but that’s not the case
Well, sounds like an aqara Problem so why didn‘t you asked in the aqara forum?
A bit more details about the sensors type/ id, used app, homey FW, … won‘t harm either.
