Just some random thoughts:
- Homey only supports Matter over Thread, and only certified Matter devices, which this will not be
- I can’t find the required information of my Homey’s Thread network, which is necessary to configure the device to become part of an existing network (although from personal experience I know it will work with an Apple Thread network, so that might be a workaround)
- ESPHome also supports Thread, and setting it up is quite easy: OpenThread Component - ESPHome - Smart Home Made Simple
However, it doesn’t support Matter, only ESPHome’s own protocol. It may work with Homey’s ESPHome app, but I don’t know if Homey, or the app, are able to discover devices over IPv6. - ESP32C6 devices are typically a bit cheaper than the H2’s, and they also support WiFi6 and BLE5, besides Thread and Zigbee, which makes them more versatile.
